All my new kittens about a month ago were born with sickly eyes. I didnt have money to go to the vet so I just washed their eyes daily with water (about 3 times a day). Slowly, they all got better except two, which I admit were semi-neglected since they usually hid. Now, one of them is...
Okay, this may sound strange, but just consider it...
I was in the same situation about a year ago. I had a cat who had just given birth to 3 kittens about a month before when I found this poor kitten near the expressway. When I brought the new kitten in, I thought "Perfect, he can just feed...
I have a kitten who I found in the litter box looking pretty ill and there was this strange clear, gel-like substance coming out of its little anus. I smelled it and it didn't smell rancid, like feces or urine. It smelled sort of metallic.
I washed the kitten and then more of this stuff...
I ended up placing him on the heating pad that I had purchased when the mother gave birth to her kittens. Unfortunately, the kitten didn't make it. I was kind of relieved. He was crying so much; it looked like he was in a lot of pain.
I have no clue what happened. He was a week old and I...
I'm caring for my cat and her 3 newborn kittens (about 9 days old); one of them has started moaning a lot and is hardly moving. When I first found him, he was away from the others and cold. I thought he was dead. But when I picked him up, he groaned. I then kept him in my hands, warming him up...
Aww, that sounds precious!
How can you tell if your cat likes water...er, without traumatizing them, you know by splashing them with water or something. I've cared for a lot of cats in my life and only a few seemed to like water, at least going to the sink and stuff like that, but I never...
Never heard of an ER vet, where can I get a number? Phone book?-- or are you talking of some kind of hotline or something? I remember there was a vet open on Sundays...he may have been an emergency vet, but I'm not sure.
Smart, that may explain what is going on...
He's supposed to get another drop in his eye in about 30 minutes. Should I just skip it?? I think I will, but what if I'm just being paranoid and I keep him from healing?
Well, no notable difference as of yet. He doesn't look sick or act sick though...
Wow, I feel terrible now. For a long time, I didn't believe in spaying my cats because I thought it hurt them and it wasn't natural; plus, I also wanted the female cats to experience "motherhood". Now I feel bad because I realize that there are so many cats out in the world...but it still feels...
Yes, it's being put in the eye. And, its actually my brother who has been administering the medication. He is putting one drop in Cici's (my cat) left eye; this is causing him to immediately start to salivate.
We did get meds, three of them. Two to be administered orally and one for the eye. I'm a little bit worried about the eye solution because it had a very strange and noticeable side effect on my cat; it made her immediately start to salivate!
Anyways, I'm been pampering the love of my life since...
