please read - need second opinion on cat with wobbly hindquarters

I would just like to thank everyone who responded. To update, I never had time for a second opinion. By Saturday evening, things had deteriorated to the point where she couldn't walk. The next morning she could not even sit up for long. It was heartbreaking to watch her suffer so we contacted a...

please read - need second opinion on cat with wobbly hindquarters

Thank you. I am just curious if this sounds like it could be cancer. Does it manifest this way? Kitty seems fine otherwise except for the wobbly rear legs and has even been less lethargic, although that may just be the steroids they gave her. I don't want to miss treating something serious but...

please read - need second opinion on cat with wobbly hindquarters

They did not do either. After viewing the X-ray, the vet said that she didn't need bloodwork to confirm. We actually had blood work done in August (they recommended it as a baseline because of her age) and it was mostly normal. Some elevated antibodies due to allergies, they said.

please read - need second opinion on cat with wobbly hindquarters

Within the last week, my 9-year-old domestic shorthair tabby has become extremely lethargic and in the past day, her rear legs are wobbly when she walks. She still has her appetite and is using the litterbox although she has been having accidents, I think mostly because of the weakness in her...

    cat outside too much?

Hi, I could use some advice. Our 8-year-old tabby still has her claws and has been an indoor-outdoor cat most of her life. This has never been a problem. Usually she goes out during the day and comes home at night, around dinner time. In the winter she stays in (by choice) more often. But this...

cat with anal gland issue - PLEASE help

Hi, I wanted to post an update in case anyone else has this issue. We tried culturing the bacteria from the infection and developing a targeted antibiotic but even that did not seem to help. We were heartbroken, but ultimately decided against surgery. Miraculously, our cat seems to have...

cat with anal gland issue - PLEASE help

Neither vet ever did bloodwork. There is no visible growth but her primary said the discharge when she last expressed her was pus with traces of blood and that the gland felt "thickened." Also said it felt larger than it did a month or so ago. The other gland is fine. We've already had Boo on...

cat with anal gland issue - PLEASE help

Hi, my 8-year old domestic tabby has had an infected anal gland for months that antibiotics haven't been able to cure. They control her symptoms while she is on the meds, but once she's off, the gland remains infected. She has no other symptoms--no scooting, licking, etc. We've had her to her...
