My 12-year old orange tabby has been sneezing for the past week. Everything else about her appears completely normal; she's not in pain, she sleeps normally, she eats/drinks normally, she plays normally, there's nothing gross coming out of her face or butt.
I may consider investing in an air...
I've made "cereal" out of her kibble before (adding some water or chicken broth) and she'll eat it happily, but then later, sure enough, there's a splatter mess.
I just think she's old and finicky and wasn't taught any manners in her early life!
Good insight; however she hasn't demonstrated to me any other notions of pain or discomfort while eating. I'm taking her in for her yearly check-up in October.
For now I just have a paper towel down and then magically "refill" her bowl with the leftovers. If I mix the remains with wet food...
Bridget is 13 and is by far the messiest cat I've ever encountered (and I grew up with barn cats).
She'll eat her kibble--some days voraciously, some days she'll just pick at it for 24 hours--but no matter what, she'll chew up a bunch of pieces and leave crumbs everywhere. I'm talking like a...
My cat does all of those things too. Follows me everywhere, even when I ignore her.
Lately she's been moving all her toys into the closet during the day and then yanking them out at night and piling them around my head.
Sometimes I wonder if Bridget thinks I'm her mom or her kittens...
"Imaginary playmates." You need not say more. :)
If it actually sounded like she were having a good time playing I wouldn't be so concerned. It just sounds like she needs to be exorcised. To each their own.
Thanks for all the insight. My Bridget LOVES having her front nails done (to the point of all I have to do is ask if she wants a manicure and she hops up on my lap, paws poised) but heaven help you if you attempt to get the back. I can't even figure out the mechanics of getting to her back...
My 12-year old ginger tabby Bridget makes the most horrifying noises in the middle of the night. I noticed it when she plays with her crunchy tinsel ball toys (of which she has destroyed seven). I'll hear her thundering around the apartment tossing it around, and then she'll sit on it and make...
Good point. Haven't had to break out the A/C yet, though I generally keep one room dark (blinds pulled, fan on) and the main room with the windows open. That way Bridget can sleep/have closet time in the darker room if she gets too hot in the main room. And, of course, plenty of water in the...
I have a 12-year old orange tabby who has blackish freckle-like spots on her lower lip. She doesn't seem to be in pain while eating--she goes through periods of eating voraciously and then nibbling all day and then not eating at all for a day, etc. She's on a varied diet of wet food mixed with...
I use coconut oil on myself religiously. I swish with it (Google "oil pulling"!), I use it as lotion, I use it as makeup remover, and I cook with it. I haven't tried putting a tiny amount in my cat's dish but I'm not opposed to trying. I argue it's some of the best stuff out there.
My...
