Max has a habit of curling up on our clothes to try & stop us from leaving him, I don't know if this is normal cat behaviour but it's quite cute! This was him earlier today.

We tried to discourage him from jumping the jump initially, but obviously to no avail. It's second nature to him now, he even jumps directly down from the highest one!

He seems to have a recurring problem with one of his eyes. I'm not sure if he gets dust or grit in it, but one of them is regularly weeping , causing him to scratch it. He's lost some fur above his right eye as you can see from the picture. If it gets any worse we'll obviously need to make a...

Another thing, I've noticed on various websites that it's recommended to keep the new cat in a "safe room" for a week or so. This would be a problem, as we only have a very small place, which Max has the run of, & if for any reason he was excluded from a room he'd not be a happy boy!

He's never been left on his own for more than one night before. We've got 2 different people coming in twice a day to feed him & change his litter, and we invested in a couple of night lights, so we're doing all we can, but he's just not used to being left on his own overnight. Fingers crossed...

Max has a habit of digging around his food tray either after he's finished eating, or when we put his food out. Does these mean he's "burying" it, and will come back later, as he also does the same thing around his food tray after he's done his business in his litter tray?

Thanks for all your replies. We're going to the Algarve, looking forward to it, but not looking forward to leaving kitty, as he's never been left on his own for more than one night before.

We're only away for a week, & have someone coming in twice a day to feed and change litter tray.
