    My feral cat FEEDING problems

Just a thank you for taking the time to reply to my question.   I went to the vet today and brought back a number of Royal Canin sample cans to try on Theo.  He seems to like the Gastro Intestinal version which according to the vet will do him no harm and is still high enough in protein for a...

    My feral cat FEEDING problems

I have domesticated finally my feral cat THEO.   He was fine for months eating the vet recommended in the can ADULT food from Royal Canin.  He now seems to have lost interest in the canned food though he will eat the ADULT pellet version.  He has become interested in my much older cats Royal...

    Need More Advice

The amount of food for Theo according to his weight and the Vet info on the food he is taking is ! and 1/3 CANS  (not 1/3 of a can) . Thanks for the explanation  for Theo's insatiable hunger it makes perfect sense. I am in Canada and the food is Royal Canin (adult) 5.8oz cans. This food is I...

    Need More Advice

I can now happily report that Theo ( either a stray or feral - about a year and 4 months) is presently well integrated into the 'family' here and seems to  be tolerated by our two much older cats though there are times when paws are raised. What intrigues me and I would like to get some feedback...

Question regarding 'tagging' Theo - a socialized stray male just over 1 year old.

Thanks for info. I found the safety collars which separate if required for safety  and a self-serve tag engraving machine that is not too expensive to use at the local Pet Smart store.

Question regarding 'tagging' Theo - a socialized stray male just over 1 year old.

Thanks for the quick reply . The breakaway collars are a good idea but obviously getting engraved name tags would be asking for trouble , because of their cost,  if one needed to keep replacing them.  But one can use a simple plastic protected label to get around that problem.  Michael

Question regarding 'tagging' Theo - a socialized stray male just over 1 year old.

I have finally had success at 'socializing' Theo and want to be able to eventually t him out doors. I understand that there is a lot of opposition to letting one's cat outside. We have a very unique situation of safety in this location which though in the city proper is isolated and not close to...

    Need More Advice

Thankyou for the quick reply. What you say makes sense. I guess there are not many options and I have been more or less handling the feeding question as you pointed out.  My older two cats primarily eat wet cat food ( from a can) but I have kept some tried food out for them to graze on between...

    Need More Advice

I have now managed to get Theo , a  stray male cat (1 year 3 month old ) to  live relatively peacefully with my two older cats ( 10 -12 years old) . There is the odd altercation but things seem to be improving daily.  There are two issues I need to resolve and perhaps I can get some advice. ...

    Update and Suggestions

This is an update on my attempting to socialize a feral or stray cat that is roughly 13-15 months old - THEO a male.  I have made great progress with Theo.  I can now pick him up easily, he is happy to lie beside me, even on me if I am reclining on a couch.. He seems so much calmer and purrs...

    What is my next step?

Thank you Molly . Much appreciated. I am lucky enough to have a very unusual city location with virtually no immediate neighbors.  I have let my cats out doors now for 20 years or so and 'knock on wood' never had a problem. I am cautious and do not simply abandon them for hours on end  and never...

    What is my next step?

It has now been a week that Theo a stray cat has been living in our guest room after returning from the vet (see my previous posts).  I am now interested in getting some more advice on where to go from here.  Theo is responding well to my presence and is not freaked out and running off to hide...
