Sensitive, Shy, Older Cat Can't Accept New Kittens and Acts Isolated and Depressed

Thanks for the good wishes. It has been hell, but not the kitties' fault, but sometimes one has to consider their own health too. My husband is taking rehoming them hard, but I think it might be the best thing. I'm sad too, but also need to think what is best for the babies with Jade not...

Sensitive, Shy, Older Cat Can't Accept New Kittens and Acts Isolated and Depressed

We have given three rounds of Ponazuril over the course of six weeks. Not sure if the third one took, since it's too soon to tell. I'm almost in the hospital at this point with the toll this has taken on me, so we are seriously and reluctantly considering rehoming the kittens. I'm too exhausted...

Sensitive, Shy, Older Cat Can't Accept New Kittens and Acts Isolated and Depressed

Two months and little progress introducing two kittens to older cat and nothing but bad luck.  Hello. About two months ago my husband and I adopted two sister kittens that were about six weeks old after losing our kitty Precious in March. We have adopted other cats and know the realities of...

Help! I have three sick cats, and one won't eat. I'm at the end of my rope.

Hi Stephanietx, Thanks for your response. We took baby to the vet, force fed her, and gave her meds, and she is on the mend. Thank goodness. Still trying to get rid of fleas, worms, and respiratory in the kittens, as well as hoping we have gotten rid of the coccidia. How did you resolve the...

Help! I have three sick cats, and one won't eat. I'm at the end of my rope.

Hello, We lost a kitty that wouldn't eat about four months ago after weeks of tests, treatments, trying to force feed, etc. We have two new kittens with coccidia locked in our bedroom/bathroom because our current kitty Jade won't eat, and now our adult cat Jade has gingivitis, has a fever, lays...

Sensitive, Shy, Older Cat Can't Accept New Kittens and Acts Isolated and Depressed

Can someone please help and give feedback? Taking older cat to the vet today, even though she literally has to be sedated just to be examined. I'm at my wit's end, and have never rehomed any cat I've adopted, but thinking about rehoming the kittens . . .

Sensitive, Shy, Older Cat Can't Accept New Kittens and Acts Isolated and Depressed

Hello, We have a five year old kitty named Jade. When we got her, she had an older sister named Precious and it took about a month for Precious to accept her, but in time she did. We lost Precious about four months ago, and about five weeks ago we were adopted by two friendly but stray sister...

    Persistent Coccidia

I am sure it's coccidia. She did test positive twice. She may have other digestive issues as well since her poop has been semi-mushy since we have had her. I have switched cleaning the box with ammonia instead of bleach. I wash their bedding with ammonia solution in the detergent, and I have...

    Persistent Coccidia

Hello, I have two sister kittens that are currently 10 or 11 weeks who were diagnosed with coccidia. One of these kitties has had persistent loose stool on and off since we got her. We took them to the vet, gave them Ponazuril, bleached the litter box every day, sanitized everything, and...

    Kitten not eating

Yes, she is doing those just fine. Since then she has started eating again, at least today, and seems to have some energy back. Is it normal for a kitten to refuse food for a day or two just because they don't like the food they're given. We have tried a lot of high quality foods on her.

    Kitten not eating

A few weeks ago we adopted two kittens. They were treated for Concordia, and overall have been playful and healthy. They are sisters and one is larger than the other, but the smaller one is a bundle of mischief and energy. We are feeding them grain free dry kitten food out down all the time and...
