Help if you can..bumpy scab on under neck?

HI. My Standard Munchkin, Falkor, I noticed has some type of skin problem/ wound on his neck (on the underside). I feel bumps in the scabby drainy area, but also feel a couple of bumps on other areas of his neck ( like behind the ear reigion). He has long hair, so I can't "see" really well...

OH man...possible URIs, am I being overreactive

Having two small children, I have learned that when you are a new mom you want to rush your kids to the doctor at the first sign of a sniffle, and then as you get more comfortable, you learn when its okay to wait it out with them. I feel like I am in new mom stage with my cats and don't know...

Probably been asked a thousand times, but best food for the price?

Okay...It sounds like I need to do some more research on the subject. I am not sure what I want the food to "do" other than give my cats what they need. My youngest girl is still trying to catch up to being severely malnorished when I got her. I am not trying to be a complete cheap-o, but...

Probably been asked a thousand times, but best food for the price?

Hi. I have three cats all under the age of 1. I have been feeding them Hill's Science Diet kitten food from the begining. As I am reading up more on cat food I see that it is an overpriced replica of most supermarket foods. SO, what is the best alternative with the same price range as...

New to forum new-ish mama to Munchkins

OHHH, good. I am glad I am not the only one who has a thing for odd eye kitties...or apparently strange kitties in general since I took home my little polydactyl cutie, Chaplin earlier this week. Thank you. I actually decided I only wanted a cat if I could find an odd eyed one...then I found...

What should I name my kitten?

Thanks for the help... I left the final decision up to my 3 and 6 year old boys....they picked Chaplin, which makes me happy, because it is unique and I am a fan of unique. They have already nicknamed him Chappy. ha! Now I MUST find a little black derby hat for him. filamgirl618, any luck...

    Breeding odd eyes...question

Yeah...I am keeping them seperate. I can sense that it will be quite a process. They are doing some "familiarizing" through the doors. Some growling, some hissing and such. How will I know when is the right time (or how) to go the next step? Is there a sticky thread around here I am missing?

    Breeding odd eyes...question

Welp...Femmy and Falkor went in this morning to be fixed. Thank you all for your advice...It was a really bad fleeting thought to let them have a litter for so many reasons. In other news...a shelter cat at petco adopted me the other night. I couldn't help it. Wish me luck on integrating all...

What should I name my kitten?

I like Sookie. I just got a new shelter cat whom I ADORE...can't believe how awesome we have bonded. I also am having difficulty naming him. I find myself calling him somethin different every time "trying out" different names. I am getting to the point where I don't know if I can decide on...

How likely is it that stress or new food causes loose stools?

Thanks for the imput. Yeah, I am going to try and make sure the other kitties feel loved still. I hope that everyones stools return to normal quickly. They weren't able to tell me what the new kitty has been eating so that I could slowly make the change. Hopefully his stools will adjust to...

How likely is it that stress or new food causes loose stools?

Hi. My cats suffered with Tritrichomonas foetus which was horrible, but they were treated and got better. I introduced a new cat into the household (shelter cat that melted my heart...don't know what I was thinking) last night and took my other cats on a ride to the spay/neuter clinic today...

    Still battling diarrhea :(

Hi. I haven't read any of you previous posts, but my cats had Tritrichomonas foetus which causes nasty loose stools that can get better and worse. My oldest cat suffered worse from it...it was nasty. It is often mistaken for giardia and the treatment is tricky. Here is a website with some...

    Fattening up an older kitten

Yeah, my kitties and I have been through the ringer together. They were both malnourished when I got them (in my opinion...skin and bones), the older one had horrible diarrhea and couldn't control his bowels...he is the skiddish one and would have accidents every time he got nervous... daily...
