I used to use the old gold-colored Nutri-Vet chicken hairball stuff, but you can't find it anymore. Additionally, it seems sodium benzoate is a no-no for cats.
Does anyone know of a hairball remedy/helper that contains no fish(cat and fish don't get along) or benzoate? I am having a hard time...
My kitty got the runs pretty nastily after a move. Turns out it was stress -- I skipped about 12 hours of feedings, then gave him boiled chicken for a day, then went back to normal feeding and it cleared up.
This is my boy. He's somewhat petite for a fella, but he was a runt who almost died of starvation/malnutrition when he was rescued.

He's also very mindful of the safety of his human. Here he is protecting me from the holiday package my brother...
So, kind of a heads up here, from some interesting things I learned.
My little guy loves food. He goes face-in on pretty much anything not fishy I put in front of him. BUT - and there's a but - he doesn't each much in a sitting. A regular portion takes him hours to graze down. I just figured he...
My cat used to do it regular as clockwork after drinking. It took me a bit, but I figured out it's what he does after he 'gets it down the wrong pipe'.
Ever since switching to wet food, he almost never visits the water dish, so I haven't heard a single episode of that since. On the dry food...
I finally got some Hound and Gatos lamb for my little guy to try. I scooped it up out of the can and the underside of the pate was dark grey, with very dark greenish black spots. It looks like there was some form of air pocket at the bottom of the can.
Ugh.
Not a good first impression...
I may have to stop the Soulistic for my cat -- he eats it with relish, but it doesn't sit well in his stomach. He often wants to cuddle right after eating if he doesn't feel too hot, and it's murder on my shirts.
The Merrick brands have an ingredient I'm not sure I trust -- alfalfa meal. It's...
Hey all, new face here.
My little guy is a rescue who came to me with a pretty easy palate and a fish allergy. He was raised by his fosters on kibble and anything meaty he stole from them, no joke, right off the plate the moment they turned around.
I moved him from regular commercial dry to...
