Thank you so much for all the advice. I have been cleaning the spots and keeping them from getting too dry. I've even made him some neck scarves to keep his neck warm! Lol I appreciate all the advice and suggestions.

 I can't seem to get an appointment with a vet till next week.  Ive been using an antifungal on it for about 3 days. It has just started to flake and crack. I'm wondering if the antifungal is drying it out? It all started with scabs and I shaved the hair around them to better treat it.

Does anyone know what this could be? It's a stray kitten we took in and these spots just appeared about 2 weeks ago. We have had the kitten for about 2 months. His mood is fine and he's eating and drinking fine.
