My Fur Angel Crossed The Bridge Tonight

Thank you for your moving words of comfort, everyone. It was very hard to wake up and not have her here because I live in a studio apartment, and she's always just been there, waiting for a cuddle, purring all along. She would purr if I just smiled at her. And knowing she's not just in the...

My Fur Angel Crossed The Bridge Tonight

My Allie Cat, at the age of 16 crossed the Rainbow Bridge tonight at the cancer specialist group where I'd been taking her since last May. I've been posting about her on this board since I got her when she was a kitten. She was a beautiful Maine Coon mix. She was my sweet, fiesty, sometimes...

What To Look For In A Cat Sitter Who'll Dispense Medication

Thank you for your kind words and advice, everyone. Unfortunately, Allie took a turn for the worse, and it wasn't fair to make her keep fighting. She crossed the Rainbow Bridge an hour ago. Thank you, again, though. It's so helpful to know this community is here when I need it. Emile

What To Look For In A Cat Sitter Who'll Dispense Medication

I did find someone on Thumbtack who said they specifically have experience administering medication, so I've reached out to them. And hopefully the vet will have referrals when I see them this evening. I've heard of Next Door, I'll look in that too.

What To Look For In A Cat Sitter Who'll Dispense Medication

Thank you. My comfort is that she's in the best hands. I really like the staff at this hospital and at the cancer speciality center next door. I'm going in to visit Allie there today, so I'm going to ask for referrals or see if any do house calls. I have a feeling no on the latter. Emile

What To Look For In A Cat Sitter Who'll Dispense Medication

Thank you so much. I looked through my old posts, and I've been tracking Allie's progress on this board since she was a kitten. It's so strange to think of her as coming towards the end of her life. I'm looking for someone who'll either help me pill her before work, or can do it themselves. I...

What To Look For In A Cat Sitter Who'll Dispense Medication

Hello - My little Allie Cat (pictured in my profile on the floor) is now 16 years old. I posted last year that she was diagnosed with mast cell cancer and lymphoma. And this month, we can now add pancreatitis to the list. She's been at the hospital for a flare-up the last couple of days, and...

    Holistic Vet In Los Angeles

Hello - My cat has been diagnosed with lymphoma. Last Saturday, she had her spleen removed, and I'm waiting for the results of her biopsies. In anticipation of her potentially needing chemo, I wanted to start looking into alternative therapies, and wondered if anyone might have holistic vets...

Asking For Help With Medical Bills For Cat With Cancer

Hello - My Allie Cat - the Maine Coon mix lying on the floor in my thumbnail - had her spleen removed and biopsies done this past Saturday. It's been a whirlwind of diagnostic steps to find the cause of her illness: she started vomiting several times a day a couple of weeks ago, and since then...

    Cheaper Canned Foods?

My older cat's doing really well keeping down a full can of Fancy Feast Classic, so I just bought a variety box of the non-seafood cans. So it looks like I can get her off the dry food faster than I'd thought, thankfully. Emile

    looking for wet food recommendations

My younger cat is exclusively on wet food now. I'm almost at the end of the Wellness Core bag of food that my older cat of 12 years old has been eating, and I was looking forward to transitioning her. I found she'll eat wet food, but she's always had a very sensitive stomach. I think she can...

    Cheaper Canned Foods?

I saw a direct correlation to feeding her Sheba and taking her off it, so it may very well be. Emile

    Cheaper Canned Foods?

Hi, MsCatmom. I'm not sure if you were talking to me or the original poster. But I stopped dealing with the CitK pouch food just because it's easier to scoop out all the food from the can than the pouch, and the cats like it just the same. My oldest, Allie, is 12 and my youngest, Zora, is 1...

    Cheaper Canned Foods?

Another update: I switched to Fancy Feast Classics, and Zora loves it, and her BMs are back to normal.  I won't be using Sheba again. I managed to get a good deal on Cats in the Kitchen from petflow.com, so I'm looking forward to that shipment arriving and putting her back on the good stuff. Emile

    Cheaper Canned Foods?

Update: I found an unpleasant side effect with the Sheba. It's producing a light tannish BM and it's stinkier than usual. Soon as a I get my paycheck this week, I'm switching over to a better food. Emile
