Well, I don't think they're very spoiled...
They rarely get treats. We don't buy them a lot of toys (they much prefer cardboard boxes and milk jug rings ) No cat beds or cat trees. They are certainly well cared for and adored, but not really indulged
Oh, I did ask the vet when I brought Rex (the bunny) in to be examined. I told her we had Frontline Plus at home and she said to use it. They're on Feline Heartgard anyway, and that's Ivermectin, which is used to treat and kill mites. I'm really hoping that they're covered, but wanted to ask in...
Our rabbit is being treated for fur mites; the poor guy is rapidly going bald
All of his bedding is being washed and because the cats play with him, I'm going to preemptively treat them with Frontline. Is there anything else I can/should do?
I had an adverse reaction to the MMR vaccine that has resulted in longterm, chronic joint pain. The worst pain is in my knees and shoulders. I've been really fortunate in that my pain is largely manageable through nutritional support (conversely, certain foods make it SO MUCH worse), but even...
Oh man, if any of my cats were an "only" they'd drive me crazy! They keep each other so well occupied and entertained that they don't demand much from us aside from meals, a clean litterbox, and a few snuggles now and then. Multiple cats, in my experience, are not a whole lot more work than just...
Well, the kittens are easy: all three were born on August 11, 2004.
We guesstimated Scully's birthday to be around January 18, 2004, while her 'Gotcha Day' is August 4, 2004 (just a week before her babies arrived).
Rex the rabbit's birthday is March 13, 1999. He's kind of an old fart
Our cats are all hay eaters We've had house rabbits since the day they were born and they have always shared the bunnies' hay. Most of the time it, uh, makes a return trip
But they've never had any issues with it, and I compare it eating fresh grass: they're not eating it in huge amounts and...
Yes. Her name is Stephanie.
Every time we start talking to one of the other cats or petting one of the other cats, no matter what she was doing before, Stephanie will start crying until we talk to her or play with her. Every time.
Right now just a rabbit, Rex Harrison:
Our other rabbit, Peanut, and two mice, Martin and Chuck, died just a few months ago. We've also had ferrets, rats, guinea pigs, dogs, fish, etc.
Our oldest cat, Beeper, journeyed over the Bridge almost three months ago. As best we can figure, she was at least 18 years old.
The day she died, my younger siblings found her lying outside in the sun. We think she had a stroke, and so we brought her inside and laid her on the couch. She was...
Well, for the past five years, New Year's Eve has been combined with my b-day (December 30th) and I've celebrated it with several of my girlfriends. This year, however, we're all too far apart to celebrate together and I think I'm just going to be partying with Mom, Dad and the younger sibs.
I really don't think it's as much intentional coverup as it is unintentional ignorance. A lot of vets are just repeating what was once 'conventional wisdom' regarding feline nutrition, that dry food is good for the teeth and wet food is bad, fattening, sugary, etc. That's not entirely true, but...
