Here you go. This is typical. Little One just jumped up on the desk and started growling. I tried to pet her and she went at my hand and jumped off the desk hissing. She went to the couch where I followed her and started petting her no problem...she even licked my hand and purred. Weird.

Yes, Little One is spayed -- has been since, oh, 7 or 8 months old. Marx, the other cat, is also female, also spayed, and 7 years old. They get along pretty well.
