I've always thought it was an insult. Like it belongs in the litterbox. My cats only do it when they don't like the food and will not eat it. They just make like they are burying it.
Every time I walk into the bathroom Dudlebug is hanging with her head in it. I think she playing with the water and watching the ripples. I'm not sure tho cuz all I see is her butt. She will spend hours in there.
