    Super Hydrophobic Spray for Litterboxes

Tested this stuff out.  I'll reply back in a month about the longevity.  I intentionally underfilled the litterbox so that when they pee'ed this weekend it would stick to the bottom.   It didn't stick, HOWEVER, I can't recommend this yet. While it worked just like in the videos and nothing...

    Super Hydrophobic Spray for Litterboxes

Just a heads up that Home Depot now has this product on sale.  I've tried to research any toxicity concerns, and while the aerosol itself of course is toxic once it dries and sets it is non-toxic from everything I have read and from their own FAQ.   $20 for two cans of the stuff...

    I'm wondering

Sorry for not checkin' in.   Wesley and Buttercup are doing great and are loving the new Weruva wet food flavors we just discovered a few weeks back... when they don't just meow but jump at the food and polish the plate to a mirror finish every day you know you have a winner, heh!   I'll have to...

"Nutritionally Complete" assurances for our pet food?

If the intentions of the originator is to bash commercial food with proven false or at least misleading statements such as the leather boots, motor oil, and vitamins comment, then that has already been demonstrated to be wrong, since AAFCO/FDA protections are multifaceted not just in feed trials...

"Nutritionally Complete" assurances for our pet food?

    1) This thread was created based on a quote of mine discussing how commercial food is safer than unregulated home diets because of the expert oversight and safety regulation of the pet food industry. 2) Auntie Crazy as one example has advocated for ages now for unregulated home-made raw diets...

"Nutritionally Complete" assurances for our pet food?

My defense is that the AAFCO guidelines and FDA regulation are what we have available, to dispel misleading or outright false statements made about commercial food by fear mongers trying to sell books online or merely unobjectively evangelizing the latest fad diet, and to highlight the dangers...

    4Heath All Stages cat food?

There are two types of diabetes.   It may have been genetic, and not the fault of the diet at all, as it is for some people that were simply born diabetic.   Most people have adult onset type 2 diabetes, and we do know this is affected by diet, and I'd wager its similar for our feline friends...

"Nutritionally Complete" assurances for our pet food?

Yes, I have read the thread and MSchauer's contributions are excellent and exactly to the point I am getting at, and I hope my contribution is simply to help dispel misleading and sometimes outright false statements and FUD I see posted.   I mean no offense and it is nothing personal, but I do...

Which are the 5 best dry commercial cat foods?

We feed Blue Wilderness Duck Dry as 50% of their daily calorie intake, and the cats are healthy, have high energy, silky coats (except Wesley does shed quite a bit but I think its genetic for him, as Buttercup really doesn't shed at all), and to date great dental health per their vet. They also...

"Nutritionally Complete" assurances for our pet food?

I noticed you did not address any of the questions directed as to how you came to make the previous statements. Someone is being dishonest here, as clearly that is NOT the AAFCO definition of chicken.   I already posted the AAFCO definition of chicken, it is right above your post.  Chicken per...

    Inexpensive canned food?

Brewers rice is just a by-product of rice milling, lots of little rice fragments missing the bran layers that has the good minerals and fiber which is put into cheap pet food rather than tossing it.  Not the end of the world, but just little things to look for.

Infrared Light Therapy for cat's arthritis pain?

Skipping ahead here, but just wanted to throw in a little science, so you aren't duped by misleading statements by marketing groups like those that sell those magnets making fantastic claims. An infrared lamp is nothing more than a lamp designed to release most of its energy as heat rather than...

    Inexpensive canned food?

We feed 50/50 wet/dry and my cats are not picky eaters luckily.  At Petsmart, the best affordable wet food I have found is Innova Cat and Kitten in 12oz which is $1.75 a can (12oz will be too large though unless you up the amount of wet food you feed your single cat),  Nutro Complete Care and...

    Question about kitten food

To reduce stress, its a great idea to just feed whatever the cat was eating before.   But when it comes to switching wet food flavors, don't worry about it.   I believe the slow transition is typically only suggested for dry food, and that's just for cats with sensitive tummies (some can change...
