Unfortunately those have a high rate of false negatives.  The repsonse you describe also matches it. 

Pancreatitis tends to show symptoms just like this.  An ultrasound would be helpful to diagnose it.

We use the drug a lot at our hospital and have had very good results with it for cats like yours. No side effects that I have seen. To me, a Godsend for cat treatment as pilling a cat is about as much fun as, well, pilling a cat.

Did your vet give you any clue as to the time when you can have the tube removed?  Typically once they start eating the tube may be removed, hopefully for less than 4K.
