I used the liners when I used the Clevercat litter box. my female (with claws) shredded them, mainly in the upper corners, so for the most part they were OK, but I was replacing them daily, which got a bit expensive.
I used that one for a while... I loved the hole in the top but my cats hated it. the female revolted and started peeing outside the box. I used the liners and tossed it out every single day!

Using Pam or other cooking sprays isn't a good idea - bacteria that cause odor use those sprays as food!
