We've had good luck with bacon flavored pill wrap. We use the Vetoquinol brand, but I've seen others. It's a putty that can be wrapped around the pill. Our cats eat their pills like treats now. Unfortunately, I usually have to order it from Chewy or another site since most pet stores don't carry it.

Thank you both. I know the neurologist is part of an emergency practice so I will call them and see if an emergency or faster appointment is possible. I agree that another general ER vet would probably not be helpful beyond focusing on the acute pain.
