Poor kitty! I hope he gets to feeling better soon.
I'm wondering if the coughing is happening because when you scritch him, it's making a tickle in his throat. I've not had kitties react by coughing, but I have one who will sneeze.

It sounds like fleas. They come in different sizes. I've found very tiny brownish colored ones, and other larger ones that are black. I'm guessing that they are different stages or perhaps a different species of some sort.
The black dirt is flea poop, or that's what I'm guessing. If you take the...
Has he been using the litter box normally? Perhaps he's constipated again.
Make sure he's getting plenty of liquids, perhaps give him some canned plain pumpkin, and some wet food also. My pukers are less likely to puke with wet than with dry. They sometimes eat it too fast and it upsets their...
Pippin was always picking at his food, especially when fighting a UTI. I had good luck sprinkling a little brewer's yeast on his wet food to stimulate his appetite.
How's he feeling tonight?

I'm so sorry to hear about Jordan. It's so exhausting and draining to get your hopes up and then have another setback. I experienced the same thing with Pippin. Do the vets know what is wrong with Jordan? I read some of your past posts, but you only mention a possibility of cancer. I hope I'm...
I am so very very sorry to read about Marbles. What a special boy he was to come into your life and heal your heart. I know you must feel so devastated. He was so young and vibrant and it happened so suddenly. I understand the pain you feel. Our boys are playing together over Rainbow Bridge. We...
Aw! I'm so sorry your baby isn't feeling well. We call the Sub Q fluids a "Capri Sun" because of the similarity of a straw going in a juice box.
They do look silly with the camel hump!
I hope your boy feels better soon!

I have given Metacam to my Pippin when he had UTIs and such. It helps bring down the inflammation as well.
Any non-steroidal anti-inflammatory carries risks, especially to cats, so the dosage should always be quickly lowered and as small as possible. You may want to talk to your vet to see if...
The brewer's yeast tastes good and stimulates them to eat. It's also good for their coat. It has a lot of health benefits to people as well and I started mixing it in my own food too. lol! It has lots of vitamins, amino acids, nutrients and is high in protein and fiber.
If he's throwing up the...
I'm so sorry to read about your loss! I know how heartbreaking it is to lose a beloved companion. My Pippin passed on Friday and I know all too well how you must be feeling.
It's difficult, but try to think of all the good times you had with your furbaby and how much love you shared. My thoughts...
The weight control formulas, in my opinion, are crappy. They generally are full of carbs which cats don't need and don't digest well. Canned food with a high protein content that you feed in smaller amounts is good. I use wellness myself but there are others that fit the bill too. Help your cat...
I have had good luck using brewer's yeast to get my picky eaters to try new foods. I found it at a health food store then found more at the grocery store (Kroger's) in the health food section.
Get the debittered variety. I just sprinkled a little on the food and they were less likely to turn up...
