Wellvet.com says grapefruit seed extract a no go?

I absolutely swear by GSE. The kind I buy is from NutriBiotic. It has cleared up awful sore throats, killed fungus between toes, helped sores to heal faster, and many other things. I gargle with it the minute I get even a teeny tiny sore throat, and usually it causes it to go away and not...

How I know my cats run my life!

I always talk to Beau on the phone when I am away for more than an overnight. The person who cares for him calls me, and holds the phone up for him and I talk to him. She tells me that he always looks at the phone, trying to figure out where I am. I miss Beau like crazy when I am away from him.

Beau needs to start sub-Q fluids soon

Thanks for all of the good wishes. Yes, Beau has been on Calcitriol since mid February. I have no way to know if it is helping or not, actually, but I am willing to keep giving it to him just in case. I love hearing about cats who have been on sub-Qs for years.not that this is a good thing, to...

Beau needs to start sub-Q fluids soon

My Beau, who just turned 15, was diganosed with CRF last fall. His creatinine levels have been climbing, and the vet thinks that soon we shall need to start him on subcutaneous fluids. I knew this was coming, but did not know that it would be so soon, and feel very sad about it. I know many...

    One word for your cat......

For Beau it would be MELLOW. I often refer to him as "The King Of Mellow". He is like living with a little Buddha in the house. Nothing really gets to him much. He hisses at the dog, and sometimes swipes at him, but doesn't really seem to mind him really - it appears to be entertainment for...

    Made 100

This is my 100th post, finally! I don't get time to check in to this site as often as I would like to, so it took me a while to get to 100. Finally made it. Am I an adult cat now? (PS...Beau, who was diagnosed with CRF in November, is doing well, and holding his own. His weight has dropped...

    Can you spare some vibes??

How old is Bubbles? (He is beautiful!!) If he has CRF (chronic renal failure) it is not a death sentence. It can be treated. My Beau has CRF, and I get a lot of information and support from the CRF Yahoo group, and I recomend it highly. There are also two very good CRF webpages on the internet...

Give Me Your Opinion on This....

I would definitely be present if Beau needed to have surgery.

Things I've Noticed, Along the Way

Things I have noticed: When I am absolutely certain that I cannot get back up and go on, I always turn out to be wrong. It is best not to take life too seriously. It isn't permanent. Never pass up an opportunity to laugh. There will be plenty of times when you just can't manage it, so don't...

My Beau seems to be doing better :-)

A while back I posted on here that my Beau has been diagnosed with CRF (Chronic Renal Failure). The diagnosis came in November, and we saw a naturopathic vet in December, who prescribed a new diet and some Chinese herbal medicine. Since then his blood work shows an improvement in the levels of...

    vegan cats

HEAR, HEAR!!!!! Thank you for putting this so well!! Cats are obligate carnivores . It is wrong and cruel and abusive to try to feed them a diet that is guaranteed to make them malnourished and to cause many other problems, not the least of which is blindness caused by insufficient proteins to...

    might be a dum question

It's not a dumb question, just a question indicating lack of understanding about what happens when a cat is spayed. When a cat is spayed the entire uterus is taken out; it is not like a human female having her fallopian tubes tied, which could conceivably be done after a woman got pregnant. If...

Advice from my aunt on cat bites

Your Aunt doesn't say anything about what kind of enzymes, and there are a lot of different ones out there. It is sort of like saying "put juice on it".....what kind? I would also agree that any cat bite that is red and swollen should be seen by a doctor. It can, and often does, get seriously...

Sunday Is Supposed To Mean Rest, Right????

Great shot of Mt. Baker! I used to live in Whatcom and then in Skagit County, and I climbed that mountain once. (In the summer!)
