    Pawing at the floor?

I feed my kitties their wet food in the evening, and I've noticed 3 of the 4 four of them pawing at the laminate floor in my kitchen after they've finished eating. They don't do it every day, but between the three of them I notice it fairly regularly. Why do they do this? They don't seem to...

I went too quickly - starting over....

About the cost: I saw Petsmart in my area carries the Feliway diffusers, and they charge over $40 for them. I ordered mine on Amazon for $21.99, so if you decide to try it it pays to shop around!

I went too quickly - starting over....

Mini-update... That Feliway seems to be working wonders. I've never seen Delilah this relaxed! We'll see if it keeps up, or if it's just coincidence.

I went too quickly - starting over....

I haven't tried that - I will have to pick up some vanilla. I got the Feliway diffuser in the mail today and I just plugged it in, so we'll see if that helps any. Thanks for the suggestion!

I went too quickly - starting over....

We added a fourth kitty, ~6yo Thomas, to our household last week. I've allowed him pretty free access to the house since day 3. He seemed to be getting along okay with our other kitties (Delilah 3yo female, Blue 7mo female, Midget 5mo female - all fixed). He and Delilah did some hissing, but...

Best Kitty Condo for Large Breeds?

I've been looking at a tree at PSP, and I agree they are very sturdy. I have this tree right now, and my 15 pound kitty and a five pound kitten were sleeping in the condo together this evening. I do wish it was a bit sturdier though; it's never tipped over, but it does rattle against the wall...

    How many

Four kitties: Delilah is a 3yo black DMH female who came from the Humane Society. We adopted her at 10 weeks old. Blue is a 7mo DSH Siamese/tabby mix. She was part of an unwanted litter a neighbor of mine had, and she joined our family at 7 weeks old. Midget is a 5mo DMH calico; we adopted...

    Home Again Chips

My Thomas got his chip yesterday. My vet charged $37.50 for the implantation, and Home Again charged $17.50 to register the info. The shelter I got Delilah and Midget from offers microchip clinics where they charge $40 for implantation and registration combined. $75 seems high to me.

Do your indoor cats wear collars? Why or why not?

Usually by your veterinarian. Some shelters and rescues microchip their animals before adoption, and they may also offer microchip clinics for the public to bring their animals to be chipped (for a fee). It's a tiny rice-sized chip that is injected under the cat's skin with a large needle...

Good collar for cats who hate collars?

My kitties also wear Ragtime collars, and I really like them. They have a wide variety of fabric patterns to choose from, breakaway buckles, and I like that I can have them personalized with our phone number so I don't have to hang tags on the kitties.

My cats jump on my back!

My 6mo Blue jumps onto my back and shoulders all the time. She actually lays on my shoulders to snuggle quite often, so I don't mind. Other than scolding them consistently each time they jump on you (and maybe standing upright and forcing them to jump off) I can't think of any other way to...

    nail/clipping question.

A groomer who used to do my dog's nails told me you can also use flour to stop the bleeding if you clip a nail too short.

Do your indoor cats wear collars? Why or why not?

My cats all wear collars. I order the Ragtime collars and have them personalized with our phone number, so I don't have to hang tags on them. (I also usually cut the bells off, because I know I wouldn't want to listen to a bell jingling every time I moved!) Blue just lost her collar somewhere...
