Urine retention due to broken tail

I would definitely try to give him some more time. Obviously he has nerve damage & nerves are very slow to heal. A month is much more reasonable. Ask them to show you how to express his bladder. I knwo cats that were hit by cars & had no hind limb movement who eventually recovered (one even...

    Anorexia/Bulimia????

I would definitely take Rascal to a vet for bloodwork. From what you originally described this has been going on for a while & your cat is now thin right? Your vet may not understand the length of time or the change in your cat's weight. These signs could be something as simple as a bad...

    There's something wrong with Sally

Aspiration pneumonia can come from a wide variety of causes. It simply means that somehow your cat got fluid or semifluids into her lungs instead of in her esophagus where it belongs. This could be from mistakenly inhaling fluids you tried to give her or liquid medications, from vomiting &...

    Two boys recently neutered

It can take a month or two for hormones to fade out. so bear with it & the boys will be frisky but less pungent soon Deb E

    dried food

It is true that some cats have problems with a dry food only diet, however some cats have problems with virtually every diet. Feed a premium quality diet, make sure your cat has plenty of fresh water always available & then just watch for any problems. My current house kitty was adopted 20 yrs...

    Blood panel recommended?

This is a great idea! Check with your vet clinic if they can include a T4 (for thyroid). Most labs now offer "packages" that include the thyroid for no extra. Deb E

    Dehydrated!

Giving fluids under the skin is something you might be able to do at home. If he is still dehydrated, ask your vet if a tech can show you how & you could bring some fluids home.Deb E

    milky white eye

The most common cause of a milky white eye (that covers the whole eye) is edema or fluid in the cornea (outer layer of the eye). This can be from infection, trauma, etc. Did you vet use a little strip or a drop to put flourescein in your kitty's eye? That would show if there truly is a an...

I can't get a vet appointment for 4 days! HELP!

First, your kitty is eating, drinking & eliminating normally right? Her actual breathing is normal & she isn't open mouth breathing, panting or her sides heaving when she breathes? No audible wheeze when she breathes? Nothing she could have licked or gotten into that would hurt her throat...

    Please help my cat

This does not sound good. You definitely need to have your cat evaluated again. Call round, ask friends with cats which vets they have had good luck with. Or check back with your original vet - they may not realize your cat has not improved. If you go to a new vet, get copies of all the lab...

    Low WBC and RBC

Kidney problems can lead to or cause anemia. If you get the bladder problem (& possibly related kidney problem) under control the anemia may get better. Low WBC can be from overwhelming infection, viruses or a bone marrow problem. Stay in touch with your vet! Paws & fingers crossed for Gib!Deb E

    Cat throwing up....

If your cat has just thrown up once or twice in a couple of days & seems OK otherwise I would just watch her & make sure she doesn't get dehydrated. From your posts, you seem more concerned though. If your "gut feeling" is that something is wrong, you should get her to your vet (& take a...

    bumps on neck skin

Does your cat have any chance of having fleas? Or ear mites? Both of these could cause a rash around the head area. What kind of food dish do you use? Avoid rubber or plastic. Are any other pets itching? Are you? Food allergy often causes reactions around the head. Does your cat wear a...

    ALARMED at what I saw

Parasites as someone mentioend can cause this but for an indoor cat the more likely cause is an anal gland problem. These are glands on either side of the rectum that normally empty a little each time your cat defecates - giving the poop part of its odor among other things. these glands can...

    Glued stitches + post-surgical care.

Most kitties are a bit wiped out for a day or two anyway from their spay & do best if kept quiet & off to one side. Then try to keep her settled for a few more days so her tissues can heal. If you have a large cat family you may want to dab them all with the same scent before you fully...
