A couple weeks ago Bobke had some kind of weird tongue burn.  We have no idea how it happened.  I brought him to the vet and he was put on antibiotics (Clavamox) for a week and pain meds for 4 days.  He seemed to do better as soon as the pain meds took effect and his tongue's redness went down...

Yes!  Our other cat injured his tongue just this past weekend (yeah, we have horrible luck).  He got antibiotics and pain killers.  He was most able to eat about a 1/2 hour after the pain meds (these were the liquid, oral kind absorbed under the tongue... buprinorphrine??).
