    Puppy outside all day

I did contact the RSPCA this morning and they said I should monitor it, but because I can't see the actual puppy from my window, only the plastic box type thing he keeps it in, I would have to ask the neighbour who lives immediately next door to him to monitor it and she hates animals, she also...

Thinking of getting a small Dog

I personally love Shih tzus. I have a 4 month old puppy and he is soooo cute. They do need alot of grooming but at least they don't shed hair (Shih Tzus have hair not fur) all over the carpets. He does chase my cats alittle though, but only cause he wants to play. Definitely not yappy like alot...

    Puppy outside all day

My neighbour has recently got a puppy, about a week ago, the thing is he leaves it outside ,at least 12 hours everyday, and it whines constantly. It is a Cavalier King Charles spaniel and it is only 12 weeks old, I feel so sorry for it and find it quite upsetting listening to it crying all the...

    Upside down Lionhead fish

Thanks for all your advice. I euthanized my fish today using the clove oil method and when he was sleeping I put him in the freezer. It worked well, he didn't appear to be in any discomfort. I really didn't enjoy doing it though and hope I don't have to do it again anytime soon.

    Upside down Lionhead fish

Thankyou for your replies. I did contact a nearby aquatic shop to ask if they would help but they say they don't like to euthanize fish, so they won't help. I came across this method while searching the web, but i'm alittle worried in case it didn't work properly. Let me know what you think...

    Upside down Lionhead fish

Hello, I wonder if anyone could advise me what to do with my Lionhead fish. It has been living life upside down for at least 6 months. Sometimes it hangs near the surface, other times lays on the bottom. I have tried all sorts of remedies you can buy from aquatic shops but nothing has made a...

    Cats and Babies

Both my children have been brought up with cats only. My son is allergic to dogs, but not cats. I'm sure that if he hadn't been around cats as a baby he would be allergic to them also. So, I think raising children with pets lessens the chance of allergies( in my experience anyway).

Help! Possible UTI or urinary issues with cat...

I would take him to the vet to get checked out. It does sound like it could be a uti, excessive licking of the genitalia is a symptom of it. I just lost my young cat due to a uti, he had a blockage which they couldn't unblock, so I would definitely take your cat to the vet. Good Luck.

    Goodbye Archie, My Dearest Friend

Thankyou for all your kind words, they do give me some comfort at this very sad time. I have spoken to my usual vet, as it was an emergency vet who advised me to 'let Archie go', and he said he would have told me the same thing, so i guess it was the right thing to do, it doesn't make it any...

    Goodbye Archie, My Dearest Friend

After months of persistent UTI issues my cat was pts this morning, after yet another blockage. The vet couldn't put the catheter into him as he was completely blocked and has he has suffered many complications I was advised that the kindest thing would be to let him go, so I have and I haven't...

    Suspected re-blockage

The vet has just phoned and suggested I have him pts because of all the complications he has had and he is completely blocked, they can't get a catheter into him. So now he's gone and my heart is breaking. My vet said he thought the opration wouldn't help him as the blockage seemed to be further...

    Suspected re-blockage

Hi, You may or may not have read my previous thread regarding my cat Archie, but I have had to drop him in at the vets again today with another suspected blockage. The thing is, the vet last time mentioned doing a p/u and I just don't know if I can afford the operation. Last time he cost me over...

It took a few tries but we got it

My cat Suki's easy, I just squash it into a piece of fresh chicken and she eats it no problem. My other cats a different story. I've just bought a pill gun, so I'll give that a go tomorrow, usually I pin him down and he spits it out again and again, very frustrating.
