    Litter

I thought of that too.  I didn't think to ask them what kind of litter they were using.  I'm calling tomorrow anyway, she seems to be congested so we're asking about that and to see the vet there and I;m going to ask about the litter.  Thanks.

    Say our farewells #(

So sorry for your loss.  I know how it is to lose your precious kitty.  We lost ours in Feb.  Please know that they are in a beautiful place and will always be in your heart.

We just brought our new kitten home today.  She is 4 months old.  Everytime she goes to use the litter box she seems to cry.  What should I do?  I'll call the shelter tomorrow to see if I should change the litter.  We also have to schedule an appointment with the vet to have her checked out. ...

Cher - Scratching Training Question, new kitten

We are adopting a new kitten this week.  Can't wait.  How do I train him to scratch a scratching post and not my furniture?  I have leather.  I've been reading about soft paws, the shelter suggested them.  But if he has those on will he be able to scratch naturally?  Not sure what to do.  Thanks.

Thanks to all of you who replied, this confirms my feeling about shelters.  I can't  wait to go and pick our new kitty(s)!

Thanks for your input.  I think this will be what we will do.  I checked one shelter, recommended by my vet, and they have quite a few kittens from 2 months to 7 months, plus quite a few older cats.  We saw two, brothers, we have our eyes on.  My Grandson decided to name them Sully, however...

Our cat died in February, we are just now feeling ready to adopt a new cat.  My cat hospital doesn't have any at the moment.  Do you think a shelter would be a good place to adopt a cat from?  I don't feel like getting a "free" kitten would be a great idea, I'd want my kitten to be spayed or...

Thanks, I know I've been going back and forth in my head about that too.  One minute I think we should go out and find a new kitty, and then I get so sad I can't even think about it.  I know it will take time.  Our vet, it's actually a cat hospital said that in the spring they will be getting...

Hi I'm new to this site.  Found it after we lost our beloved Casey last week.  He was a 10 year old orange tabby and he was the very 1st cat I've ever had in my entire life!  Loved him so much we are devasted.  I hope to get another kitten when the time is right.  This site seems to be really...
