I know this post and your response Winnie'sMom is also very old, but I'm curious what you found out about your cat. I'm trying to figure out what may be at issue in my cat as well.
I hope the cat is doing better. I unfortunately do not know, but I was wondering if you've looked at virtual vet visits until you're able to go in-person to your vet, which may be more affordable in the meantime.
Thank you. I'm glad you found something that worked. He is on cyclosporine which is supposed to help control allergic responses, but so far hasn't helped with the lip and paw inflammation and ulcer issues.
Here are two photos of the paw issue. The main paw pad one is not as clear of a photo. The problem starts as almost like a rash on the edge of the main paw pad and then gets dark bacteria around it, ulcers, and eventually scabs. The problem then moves to the edges of the toe pads on the same paw.
I will try new detergent.
