Violent random attacks against other cats in home.

It'll cost me another $35~$50 for another office call if I do that and money is tight. I'll push the current vet to see if they can get it for me. What about the Rescue Remedy? Anyone got a link to it? **Found link to rescue remedy

Violent random attacks against other cats in home.

Hi, Sorry for the long delay in getting back to everyone. I took the aggressive cat to the vet and they prescribed clomicalm. They claimed to have good reults from it, but its useless for me because it makes her sick and she won't eat any food with the drug mixed. I asked about Buspar, but they...

Violent random attacks against other cats in home.

I'm going to keep them separated for the next couple of weeks till I can afford a vet visit. I'll post back as soon as I have some results. Thanks for your help

When you say "blood panel" you're referring to a blood workup/analysis, correct? If so yes, she's had that and all they found was the slightly overactive thyroid I mentioned earlier. She's been aggressive towards the older female since she became fully grown and bigger.

Violent random attacks against other cats in home.

At the last checkup, I was told by the vet that the 10yr old female had a slightly overactive thyroid but nothing serious. All cats were fixed as soon as they were old enough. My biggest issue here is $$$. As much as I desire to take the best care of them possible, I simply can't afford to take...

Violent random attacks against other cats in home.

Hi again, The aggressive cat is approximately 4 years old. We got her from a Pet Smart store that was having an animal shelter exhibit. Shes a good cat...actually my favorite cat but I fear I might have to find her another home if this keeps up. She has a very spastic personality. A sudden loud...

Violent random attacks against other cats in home.

I've cleaned the wounds and there is no signs of infection. I taken to placing her in a different room during the day so they're healing. These cats are all in perfect health and have been seen by a vet recently. Nothing triggers the attacks. They're random, and nothing is happening during the...

Violent random attacks against other cats in home.

We have a total of three cats in our home (1 male, 2 female). One female cat in particular has always had these unexplained, random, violent outbursts towards the other two. I'm concerned because its beginning to escalate in frequency and she's starting to inflict real bodily harm on the other...

    Grrrrr.......

Vet confirmed that he DOES NOT have UTI. Nothing abormal found in his blood work, either. I also took the advice here and changed him over to wet food. I'm just going to live with his humping problem. As long as we put all the clothes away and close the closets, he can't get to the stuff. Only...

    Grrrrr.......

Actually, you can compare the 2 surgeries on the level that I presented them. My argument was that getting a cat spayed/neutered was to the benefit of the owner, much like de-clawing. People will get their cats fixed to prevent male spraying, stop female cats from going into heat (and yelling...

    Grrrrr.......

3 of our cats were on the way to the pound before we took them and the other was acquired from Petsmart (was already in pound) We tried alternative methods and absolutely nothing stops them from clawing the carpet, furniture etc. There comes a point when a decision has too be made. I submit that...

    Grrrrr.......

The rubbermaid container is made to store clothes under a bed so its about 7-8 inches tall on the sides. I thought about buying a large container and placing a step for the cats to get in/out. I figured that since the box would contain him, then it would put a stop to it. Was afraid it might...

    Grrrrr.......

I thought that might help so a couple of months ago I did buy a rubbermaid container that when filled with litter, looks like a small beach in my house. The wife scoops it a couple of times a day. Didn't help at all. @ Natalie_ca - He's humped stuff his whole life, so now what? Also remember I...

    Grrrrr.......

No..no No.. we didn't take the cat to the pound. I knew good and well she'd never forgive herself if I did what she said out of anger. Let me clarify a few things: 1. He's been de-clawed for at least 4 years now. The urinating issue didn't crop up until about a year ago. May I ask why a cat...

    Grrrrr.......

I'm about ready to go nuts dealing with this male cat we've had for 10 years. Here are his problems: 1. He mastrubates. Yep, you heard me right! He takes clothes, blankets, stuffed animals and has his way with them. We'll wake up in the middle of the night with him moaning. Go out into the...
