My feeling about any business - if they lose one customer, no big deal & they're not likely to change. If bad word of mouth or internet starts spreading, they potentially lose more than they want. Far more incentive to change, especially if more people do it.
But be fair. About any...
I agree w/ you, Ginny. :)
I gaius th' vet duzn't uze gud gramur.
If he said, " he opened the stomach and said he saw big lymph nodes," would mean to a lay person & grammatically, he saw the lymph nodes inside the stomach.
The bigger issue is some would say they're sort of hustling her, if...
FYI, I've used the golf ball in the bowl trick (or something heavy) to slow down our cat's eating / regurgitating & it's worked well.
She hadn't thrown up in weeks. Last night, I fed a little late & forgot the ball. She was hungry - chowed down & regurgitated in ~ 2 min.
In order to work, I...
This is out of my area - only some of what I've heard over yrs - even for humans. I'm not a nerve or spinal cord specialist in any manner. I've had some experience of my own, requiring needing TENS units & phys. ther. I've dealt w/ the topic & "played nurse," for a few months; met w/ doctors...
"They said they had to charge me for another exam not a follow up because the vet that saw him last week isn't in today"
Wow, what a line. Sounds like something a con man would say. Are they working FOR the same clinic, or are they just totally independent vets, in the same building?
If they...
In general (almost nothing's 100%) squirrels, chipmunks aren't known for carrying rabies - AFAIK, though you could do basic search. (chipmonks wear little caps)
Sometimes, state health depts or other - have available info on any recent reports of rabies or other serious issues that may affect...
I'm sure he feels much better. He passed on, late Wed. eve., 6/8 - 6 days after seeing vet 2. He's not in pain any more. Can't be sure, but don't know if he ever experienced a lot of "pain." Feeling lousy - yes. Uncomfortable from constipation for a while - we got straightened out pretty...
(can't believe this didn't go thru 2 days ago - sorry. It's a moot point now, but response was appreciated)
Thanks for info links. Most I've seen, but needed reminding.
Yes, I'm member of tanyackd.org. No answers so far on this topic. When it comes to really technical issues, it's hard to...
One vet prescribed metoclopramide (Reglan) - mostly for nausea / some motility @ 1/2 tab (2.5mg), 3 - 4x/D.
Wasn't helping vomiting much w/ CKD - late stage.
Vet 2 prescribed cerenia - 8mg/D & mirtazapine - appetite stim. @ 3.75mg, every OTHER day.
Vet 2 said continue Reglan - reduce to 1.25 mg...
For anyone: after started cat on cerenia (assuming stopped vomiting) - how long before they could hold near their usual meals - whether eating on their own or syringe feeding?
Yes - still give them. Whether "best available for cats" - not sure. They're Now brand Plant Digestive Enzymes...
Thank you. I'm on the fence & confused about how much to give (in spite of Thorne's suggestion).

I could be misinterpreting label values, but seems several of thorne B complexVet has higher concentrations than others (many are "100%" values).
Did you investigate that? Now...
The Reglan doesn't seem to be working well (as some cautioned it may / may not). It may help some, but unless I feed very small meals or just broth (neither will be good for long), he still often throws up. He can tolerate / hold broth, but can't live on it forever. Making "bone broth" to...
MOD NOTE: We have moved this post here from another unanswered thread about the same issue.
@CatOMight had put a lot of information in it that probably is already addressed here, but it seemed a shame to just delete it...
Thanks, Mrsgreenjeens (how's the mister?), Lot of good points & questions - some w/ no clear cut answers - yet.
No, didn't think of "bone broth" - definitely check. This is all new & dozens of decisions / find info on multiple health issues, not just CKD.
Yes, I saw the section on fluid...
Thank you both.
I quickly saw Thorne B complexVet before you mentioned it. Except for a couple specific vitamins, doesn't appear any lower potency than "human" types. The couple that are lower may be significant, for cat needs? Probably need long research.
While I'm syringe feeding, the...
