He may be in pain, or have an infection. Is he eating, drinking, pooping and peeing? I would take him back to your vet or perhaps get a second opinion and go to a specialist. If he never bit you before, he is in pain, and something is wrong, IMO.
Just exactly as I thought. See national news story that hit the headlines yesterday. I have copied and pasted it below:

Sorry I just read your post above, and am so glad to read that she is eating and better! Yay :-)!!
Please take her into your Vet immediately. Trust me when I say that any animal who stops eating is not well. Not eating is potentially very serious, and means she is definitely sick/ill in some...
Lisahe- Thank you for your response. I think I am most obviously disturbed that all cat foods have pesticides in them, no matter what brands, unless otherwise specified on the labels, except some very bare bones options in organic brands.
With meat only brands, the meats have God only knows...
My experience having had cats and kittens for over 40 years, is Kitten food is okay to fed, and sometimes even better to use than "Adult' foods, IMO. I have nursed many sick senior adult cats back with Kitten food, both wet and dry, when they wouldn't touch or eat anything else.
In addition...
Warning- Long post/rant :-)
Thank you so much everyone for your great, very helpful and interesting responses.
I'm going to try some of the brands suggested and truly wish that the Purina brand(s) would come up with brand new cat food formulas, and offer ORGANIC dry and wet cat foods- with...
Has anyone else noticed the huge tread of putting Peas, and/or Pea fiber, and/or Potatoes in dry and wet cat food? This didn't used to be 10 years ago, or more. Now these specific foods are literally in almost all wet and dry cat foods, except some Kitten foods I've noticed. I'm now feeding my...
I took in an obviously abandoned, young, very friendly, orange tabby back in late 2016. Right from the start he appeared to have something wrong with his skin, and had a flea allergy making his skin break out, and* he'd been bitten above the eye by another wild un-neutered Tom cat roaming...
*Di and Bob: Thank you for your wise words, especially your last paragraph:
"I vow to embrace what joys this world is giving me now, so I do not spend one day at the end of my life regretting what I missed because I was so wrapped up in the personal hell I created from my own grief. I learned...
What a beautiful little girl. She looks truly happy, and very loved. She literally radiates love and contentment.
I personally believe that our deceased loved ones, and beloved animals, spirits live forever, and my sweet 'D''s spirit is with me always, especially in my home where we have/had...
I'm very sorry to hear this. It's a very hard thing to go through, for both you and your dear cat. I also recently lost two of my cats to cancer, my last most beloved cat I suspect had intestinal lymphoma that wound up spreading quickly through out his system. It was too late to save him by the...
*I am so very sorry, Missingrosie123. I really do feel your pain. It's a horrible, mind blowing, tragic and heartbreaking thing for anyone to have to go through losing a beloved pet suddenly.
I lost my sweet boy to a fast growing cancer several weeks ago, and only three weeks before that...
