Oh, that's a really tricky one - is there any shelter outside you could put a towel or blanket in? Like a shed or other building (away from your dogs)? Could you trap him humanely and rescue him?
This is the hardest thing in the world to do, and you're so brave for doing it. The pain will lessen a little over time, but the one thing that might help is that Oscar will never suffer again - and you did that for him. Sending you positive thoughts.
