    Random Quirks

Hey everyone, I've got a few questions about random quirks one of my cats has. They're all very silly and don't really bother me, but make me wonder what goes on in his head. OK, first, why does he lick my eyelids?? If he can get near my face, he gets super excited if he can lick my eyelids...

    Scratch getting worse

Also, it didn't bleed much because she probably got it hours before I saw it (I would have been at work.) I just meant to specify that when I came home, she wasn't bleeding. It would also be highly unlikely for something to be trapped in there the way you are thinking. The scratch was...

    Scratch getting worse

Here is an update: I kept monitoring it and it kept looking just like a scab that had been picked. It stayed the same for a couple of days, and yesterday I noticed the scab had come off and the skin underneath had healed. So, she has a tiny, tiny bit left, but obviously she isn't picking it...

    Scratch getting worse

I can't spay her until she has her first vaccinations, which I can't do until the kittens stop nursing. And I can't separate them, as I live in a 1 bdrm apartment! She is a stray I am fostering, that's how she got pregnant. She is kept indoors at all times. Can we talk about her scratch now?

    Scratch getting worse

It doesn't look infected, it just looks like the skin is raw because she keeps picking the scab or something. I will take her to the vet if I notice it getting much bigger, or looking infected. Ideally though, I'd like to find a way to stop her from making it worse so it can heal! The kittens...

    Scratch getting worse

Hi So my cat was playing with her two kittens and must have got swiped, because I came home one day and she had a little nick halfway between her eye and ear. It wasn't bleeding or anything, so I left it be. I think she must be over-cleaning it or something because now it's grown. It's still...

    I want cuddly kittens

OK, so I tried the treat thing. Every time they came over, I gave them a little peice of chicken. Wow, did that ever work fast! Now they are all over me, playing and napping and staring at me while hanging out upside down, etc. etc. Seems like the problem has been solved! They even stick...

    I want cuddly kittens

I have 2 kittens and an already-cuddly mom for the last couple of months. (The kittens were born in my house because I am fostering the mom.) Anyway, I want them to be more affectionate with me. Sometimes it seems like hit or miss; as in, one day they'll curl up and sleep beside/on top of...

3 cats in 1 bdrm apt

I am still stuck deciding Whenever I think of keeping mom + 1 kitten, or 2 kittens, it feels like someone is left out and my household isn't complete. but then i worry about what 3 cats will actually be like! it's nice to imagine, but who knows? sigh. so confused

3 cats in 1 bdrm apt

3 cats in a 1 bedroom apartment - is this too much? I am fostering a mom and her 4 kittens. The original plan was to only keep two kittens, but the mom has wormed her way into my heart and I wish I could keep her as well. I thought about 1 kitten + mom, but I really want to kittens so they...

    Litter training young kittens

I confined him to the bathroom and first he just peed in a corner in the bathroom. So I confined him to a small box with the litter box inside taking up half the room. Bingo! He went quickly, but he haaaaaates being confined. Now to make the transition.. sigh. Any tips?

    Litter training young kittens

I mentioned in my initial post that I've tried using multiple litter boxes. It doesn't seem to be the thing. Also, wheat litter is safe for kittens because they will digest it. (It's flushable and biodegradeable). I've now tried confining him to a small carboard box, with a smaller litter...

    Litter training young kittens

I spoke to someone else who said the type of litter shoulnd't be a problem because it's not like they have anything to compare it to. Those problems usually arise in older cats, after you've switched litters. And, I've got 3/4 who don't mind it. I think we just both have finicky kitties. I...

    Litter training young kittens

**UPDATE** 2 seemed to catch on and now use the box. Still having problems with the one. I've put a paper towel that I used to clean up his pee inside the box and he doesn't seem any more interested.
