Oh and update on the situation: I wasn't active on this thread due to the fact that my parents had finally let the cat stay inside. It was only until this week that they started to urge him out the door again. So, I'm back to square one :) Thanks to everyone who's helped so far!

Ok so I've been researching procedures and they're all for wooden fences and fences you can run wire through. My fence is a solid metal fence, so would you have an idea on how to attach supports to that?
