How much will behavior change after TNR?

About that...they live ~2.25 hrs from me and are retired so would definitely notice if I tried to pick him up and just do it. They are home most of the time on th farm and are very observant. FIL has this weird male ego thing tied into this cat *groan* MIL, DH, and I have tried all we can...

How much will behavior change after TNR?

Hi Jen-- He was ripping the other kitties to shreds literally ... He is quite large (maybe 15-17 lbs?) and very solid. Yesterday, the contractors who are renovating my house accidentally let out my (wimpy) male cat...they said "That mean black cat chased your cat right back into the house like...

How much will behavior change after TNR?

Hi Jen. Good question (here's a very longwinded response!) I have been volunteering with several rescues here for 7 years, and for 4 yrs before that in another state, and am familiar with the resources here. This cat is _very_ wild--hence my OP about behavior change post-neuter. Mr Bill is...

54 cats fixed today at the feral cat clinic

Great job, TNR. And, yes, sadly here both the humane association and metro animal control will still PTS ferals. I'm so glad the tide is turning in other areas though!

How much will behavior change after TNR?

Thank you all for your thoughts and responses. I am excited to report that I have made an appointment for him on Wednesday with a good vet who works with ferals. Let's just hope I can succeed with the trapping...he is a very wily kitty. StefanZ--if he comes around and wants to be friendly...

How much will behavior change after TNR?

Hi-- I am new to this site, though I posted a little this summer. About 6 weeks ago, a feral (very wild) tomcat showed up in my backyard--especially under the birdfeeders. I can tell he is a tom based on the jaws, and after looking at his "aft region" closely through binoculars. He won't let...

    Tough going with stray

Hi...my heart just breaks knowing about the fate of cats in so many parts of the world. In my travels to Cyprus and China, that was the hardest thing for me to see. That is one lucky kitty and her kittens also. She looks like a love! I won't repeat the other great advice you've recieved, but...

What brand of cat food do you feed your cat?

My "permanent cats" get Wellness dry, Wellness wet when they'll eat it and Fancy Feast as a rare "treat". Foster momcat (Miss Chaffin) and kittens (once they are eating dry/wet food) get Royal Canin kitten kibble, Wellness and Natural Balance wet food.

    Queen's appetite off

Hi! no, I've not tried broiled chicken--good idea! I did give her a little tuna when she was not eating the Nutro when she first arrived to me--she munched that right up as you can imagine. I'm concerned about keeping her hydrated as well as ensuring her caloric intake is appropriate...should...

    Queen's appetite off

Thanks! I might try that over the weekend. And, I will pester the person I'm fostering for about getting Miss Chaffin to the vet. I am often too quick to rush off to my vet, so I try to think about it before running a foster in. It's good to know that others think it might not be a bad idea...

    Queen's appetite off

Hi-- I've been a lurker for some time, but have finally decided to post in the hope of recieving some suggestions or advice. The person I'm fostering for is very busy and I hate to bother her, again (I pester her a lot!). I'm fostering a mom cat (Miss Chaffin). She had 6 kittens on May 17...
