I'm a bit depressed because my Tom has been trying to avoid me.
(He's been sick with kidney issues, urine blockage...)
Could it be because he thinks I am going to give him meds again?
I gave him his last pill on Tuesday.
I try to pet him and he walks away. He only likes to play with my mom!
He...
I think that Tom is doing well. He had the urinary blockage and the beginning of kidney disease.
He is running around outside with Mixy, getting on top of the roof and meowing for food.
I had to take him for a check up but right now, I can't afford it.
I still owe $1,200 for his recent treatment...
When I took him, he was blocked.
Blood tests showed he's starting kidney
failure. From 1 to 10, vet said he was about
3.
Right now, he is peeing very well.
Thank you for your advice.
I just want him to eat and not be weak.
Before giving him the Friskies, I did call the vet and they told me to give him the KD mixed with chicken broth to see if he'd eat it.
He didn't.
Angie
Thanks.
I decided to give him that food because I found it on a page which had alternative foods for the prescribed med.
Again, this is a diet food for cats with urinary problems.
Thanks.
Since Tom wasn't eating the prescribed KD food, I bought him Friskies Special Diet for cats with urinary tract infection.
Is that safe?
At least he is eating that.
I do mix in some of the dry KD food but he eats around it.
By the way, Mr. Tom gave me a scare today.
I took him outside for a bit...
Back in 2007, I had my Sassy, Tom's sister.
One night, I noticed that she was also bloated.
I took her to the vet and she found nothing wrong.
She did blood work looking for any kind if disease. Also, she did an xray and didn't find anything.
She sent her home without any meds.
A Few days...
I will call and ask.
He finished one of his meds (zeniquin) today.
I sill have that gel and the Azodyl tablets.
Mixy is still a bit afraid when she smells him.
Good thing is that they were sitting close to each other for a while.
Thanks.
Angie
I want to update Tom's contiditon.
Please tell me if you feel that he is improving. (He has early state kidney problems)
He has been peeing in large "balls" on the litter box.
He has gotten an appetite and is eating wet food, not the prescribed medication.
He wouldn't eat that.
I bought him...
