    Tresaderm Shortage

The vet I see said that the medicine you mentioned would not be appropriate for my cat, and the only other one on hand is Momentamax, which can cause deafness. I will go with this for now.

    Tresaderm Shortage

What is everyone doing because of the Tresaderm shortage? My cat has an ear infection, and the vet told me they are no longer doing the oti-pack treatments. All of the local vets here are out of Tresaderm and Chewy and 1800 Pet Meds are out too.

    HCM

I took my two year old Grayson to the emergency vet yesterday because his breathing was off, and the night before, he was very lethargic, although I didn't notice the breathing. Long story short-they put him in oxygen and ran tests and did bloodwork. He had fluid in his lungs, and although the...

    FIV

Surprisingly, my older cat Jet has FIV. He came to me as a stray a few years ago, and I don't think I had him tested, but when he got blood work done two weeks ago, the vet told me that one of the things it checked for was FIV, and he is positive. He has been doing fine other than having a...

    Laxatone

Thanks for all the replies. I've written about Amber before although I didn't mention her in this post. She has early kidney disease and always eats canned food, never dry. She got fluids last week and I will get her to the vet this week as well. She's had blood work done, and after her enemas...

    Laxatone

Can I use laxatone for constipation? One vet suggested Miralax, but I thought I might try the laxatone. She doesn't have hairballs but about two weeks ago had to get two enemas for her constipation.

    Solensia! - new arthritis injection

I am anxious to try this for my two cats with arthritis. They get Adequan shots once a month, but the vet said they could also get Solensia, probably spaced about two weeks apart.

    T 3 Suppression Test

She does have arthritis and gets Adequan shots. The only reason that makes me think she has hyperthyroidism is because the vet said her thyroid gland is enlarged, but the bloodwork is normal, so I don't know what to do other than to have the suppression test.

    T 3 Suppression Test

Thanks for the feedback! Amber's thyroid levels were normal, so this is what makes it so hard. She was just now vocalizing, and then she will calm down. The vet checked her out and found nothing that would cause pain. I don't know. The vet said the suppression test will determine if she has...

    T 3 Suppression Test

I have posted about Amber's issues before, but I finally made the decision to go with the T3 suppression test, which I think has some drawbacks for us. I always value the opinions of others who have a lot of experience, so I thank you in advance for any feedback. Amber's thyroid gland is...

    Hyperthyroidism or something else

The test the vet recommended was a thyroid suppression test. I'm just trying to decide what to do. When I was giving Amber the meds, I hid them in pill pockets, but it wasn't long before she stopped taking them. Another cat does absolutely fine with the same meds in pill pockets.

    Hyperthyroidism or something else

Thank you for your feedback. I will ask the vet about the B-12 level. That's a great idea. So far, she has done well, I think, without meds for her hyperthyroidism, if that's what it is. The vet said she has a little nodule that she said was a thyroid tumor, but like I mentioned, her levels were...
