    I found him a home!!

That's great! It's such a good feeling to match a pet to the right person.

    Do you believe in De-clawing?

Just the thought of declawing makes my fingers hurt. I've never had a clawing problem that could not be solved.

    Taming a feral Kitten

I finally asked the right person at work if they needed a kitten. Yesterday a coworker told me her daughter wants the kitten. She is single with no kids or pets so this shy little girl will get ALL the attention. Now she is 1 of 6, I think she will warm up nicely to the idea of having her...

Adopted stray - now she's in heat

In 4-6 weeks she might be showing. I've never had a problem spaying a cat in heat. When Freda was 10 months old she went into heat on a Thursday, I called the Vet on Friday, Harold and Freda had a wild weekend. And Monday morning the both got fixed. The hardest part was trying to explain to...

    Taming a feral Kitten

Well I still have the kitten, she came back from the neighbors, twice. She is still a little shy but very sweet. She is also spayed now and has all of her shots. She was starting to hang out with some rough stray males so I got her to the vet as soon as I could. I'm still asking everyone...

How long to get used to new food?

My cats have stomachs of steel, I switch food on them all the time frequently without warning and have no problems. My cats did fine on Chicken Soup, but the dogs got horrible gas and where very itchy so dropped that one out of my rotation for everyone.

Watery eye and cloudy eye in a cat... possibly normal?

One of my cats had a scratch on her eye, it clouded up for a long time, but when the scratch was healed the eye cleared and you can't tell that anything was ever wrong with it.

    My Zoo

Yeh, he's lucky that was a cold night. Stampy is now a spoiled brat. Unfortunately more animals than I can take in just show up here. Noodle the brown dog on the table sniffing Freda showed up scared, starving and full of hook worms after 2 1/2 months and a lot of $ we did find her a nice home...

    My Zoo

They don't cuddle any more, but Freda did teach Stamp to hunt and irritates Elvis by rubbing on his chest, he doesn't like it but doesn't know how to stop her either, barking has no effect on her and she won't run.

    My Zoo

Freda is by far my most dog tolerant cat, she's also the youngest. She went into heat soon after we got Stamp (Monday morning she and Harold went to the vet) Once when Harold wasn't around to take care of things she started rubbing on Stamp. He was about the same size then, so he chewed on...

    My Zoo

Yep Stampy is postal, One day the mailman showed up with mail in one hand and the cutest little puppy in the other. He'd found him wondering in the middle of the road (we think a whole litter was dumped) I asked to hold him and never gave him back. Suddenly I had "my" first dog.

    Taming a feral Kitten

Thanks for the encouragement, I've been a little stressed out lately. When they come home they are their kids and grandkids will be there for a month so there will be much opportunity for attention. I will probably show up this weekend with a few beers and a couple of kitties. Then come home...

    My Zoo

Some of these pics are old some are new, but my whole zoo except the ducks are here, there is even a spare dog. Cats Freda, is the cat being sniffed by the dogs. Fred the female feline is the tabby. Harold my only boy is the black sweety. Glupy the tortie in the grass is my 16 yr old grumpy...

    Howdy Y'all

Ok I'm new so it's time for the cheesy introduction. I have 4 cats, ranging in age from 6-16, they are mostly outdoor, 2 will come in and hang out with us, one will come inside if I take her in, the boy doesn't want to have anything to do with the inside of the house but is the sweetest thing...

    Taming a feral Kitten

oh yeh, Prettyboy, good luck with those kittens, it's a lot of work it's been a long time since I had to tame a kitten, I've forgotten how much work it is. It's a lot easier when they are younger.
