I had ordered a shark-shaped cat bed on Amazon which never arrived, Amazon advised to either cancel or request replacement which I did, I really liked that shark, company in HongKong said they would send  a replacement, it also never arrived so I requested my money back which Amazon did.  Has anyone else gotten that shark-shaped bed from anyone for a decent price? I think @MServant got one???

Try Etsy.com There are lot of sellers there selling handmade cat beds, toys, pet stuff, etc. Here are some sharkt pet beds: https://www.etsy.com/search?q=shark+cat+bed&order=most_relevant&view_type=gallery You can refine the search further if you only want to shop sellers in the US.

Is it possible the package was marked as delivered but not actualy delivered to your home? I had that happen once with Amazon. The package was marked as delivered but I didn't actually get it until a few days later
Or maybe it was delivered / marked as delivered but actually stolen? I recently found a resident's Amazon package discarded on the sidewalk by my building, completley open and the stuff strewn about. I put everything I could find back in the box and took it back to the resident's building with a note for the mail carrier to bring it inside to the lobby  / mail box area (I don't have access past the entryway) and a note for the resident.

Of course, if a company just never sends out a pacakge with no explanation after taking your money  that's different and you should demand a refund.

Mickey saw the vet this morning who said that he's "a very healthy cat."  He got his shots and he was wormed and he has an appointment to get neutered Monday morning.  The vet sent me home with drontal pills for Connor and Murphy.  I wasn't sure how I was gonna go about giving it to them.  I was thinking about opening a can of tuna and mixing the pills with that.  Then I had to run to the pharmacy to pick up a refill and while I was out, I got biscuits and gravy from McDonald's because I was starving and didn't want to cook.  Got home with the food and the boys are sniffing at it so I thought, "Why not?"  Dipped one of the pills in the leftover gravy and popped it in Connor's mouth.  He swallowed and wanted more.  Did the same thing with Murphy - same result.  I'm gonna remember this in case I ever have to give them pills again.  It was a piece of cake.  And now I'm going back to bed.

I'd be careful with gravy from fast food. It may contain garlic and onion which are harmful to cats.

A lazy Saturday here. I got some groceries and have no plans for the rest of the day. Usually I'm at Mom's house but Dad is sick with a nasty cold and is even more crankier than usual. And he refuses to take medicine
I am not interested in getting sick

Well I do need to browse online for holiday gifts. I asked a friend what she wanted and she said she like warm feet so I'm thinking warm fuzzy socks or slippers.

I've lost count of how many times packages have gone to either my neighbor's, or a house kitty-corner on the other side of the community.

I caught a ride to the store today and was a VERY bed girl.  I bought ice cream...half a gallon of Pumpkin Pie ice cream, and half a gallon of Egg Nog ice cream.  I shall finish up here, and go do myself a damage.

Unfortunately the package could not be traced because of its place of origin. This is a restricted access community and mail theft is almost unheard of as there is a big box for oversized items, the mail carrier will put the key to it in one's mailbox and sometimes will even bring it to one's door. So the shark bed either was not sent at all or got lost somewhere in transit.

We've been looking around a lot for houses. House prices are just really high all over now. Searching for houses is pretty annoying in any case.

Well, I was shocked this afternoon with a phone call I had. It was from the adoption coordinator at the Humane Society. I kind of became friends with her during the summer. Lately, she has been kind of overwhelmed. The President of the society asked her if they could get someone to help her out. She suggested me!!!

I was asked if I would like to help her out!! The adoption coordinator would train me, work with me!! I am really flabbergasted. She told the President that I was pretty attuned to the cats, was easy to get along with, and the coordinator could really work with me..

WOW!!

I am sorry if I am coming across as bragging; but I have never been in this situation before! No one has ever asked me, because of my personality, to help them with anything...

My mind is still turning round and round...

I sent her an e-mail saying that I do not feel as if I am up to the qualifications, are honored to be asked to do this, and would like to try it out...

hope that was ok...

I mean, when I was working, no one ever gave me credit for anything, never mind asking me to help with anything important..

Now that I am not working.. I guess I am more relaxed and my honest self has come out, so I am getting asked to do a lot of things...

The church wants me to help with baptisms; I helped them with a rosary in the English portion of an international rosary, and now this from the Humane Society ~~~~ life is certainly strange....

sorry for going on and on about myself..  I really cannot believe this latest occurrence....

thanks for listening to me...and my blogs...

Way to go, @Artiemom !   I'm not surprised at all that  people would see what we see - that you are warm and compassionate.  The fact that you are volunteering at all says a lot right there.

You might be on to something about being more relaxed since you retired.  I feel like a completely different person, too.

Enjoy your new "job."  I'm sure you will be fantastic at it.

That's wonderful, @Artiemom. So glad you shared the good news with us. You will do a wonderful job and will be an inspiration to the other volunteers.

Congratulations!

This is a perfectly appropriate topic for this thread; I don't think you should be apologizing at all.

Well, I'm feeling really angry right now.  I have a debit card that I got from King Soopers (the local version of Kroger), which I use primarily for ebooks, via BookBub, Early Bird Books, etc..  Last night it began being declined.  I called their automatic line, which said I had almost $70 on the card, but I figured maybe the automatic system hadn't quite caught up with what I'd been spending, so I went to the grocery store and put another $200 on it.  Tonight I was doing BookBub, and it began being declined again!  I knew I hadn't put over $200 on it, but I called their automated system, which said I have almost $230 on the card!  I went online, where it also says I have almost $230 on the card.  I called the automated system again, and asked to speak to a real person.  Waited about 30 minutes for her to come online.  She told me that they've recently put in new protections.  There's a limit of 20 purchases per day, to stop people who steal cards from making a lot of small purchases and maxing the card out.

I understand the theory, and it sounds perfectly reasonable, but this is how I use my card.  They've made my money unavailable for its intended use.  If they wanted to put in a security question every 20 purchases or so, that I could cope with, but simply making the card unavailable is totally unacceptable to me.  I told them they've just lost a customer.  I'll go to my bank on Monday and see about getting a debit card from them.

I'm going to feed the cat and get some purrs.  I could use some purrs about now.

Not as annoying as actually moving into the house once you get it.

I used to use a debit card for just about everything until a friend told me that a credit card is a better deal as long as you pay it off every month since you get cash back which can really add up. So I did that, I never paid any interest charges which is where the bank makes its money. When I had to charge something big that I could not pay off the same month I got another credit card with no interest for 18 months, transferred the big balance and then put THAT credit card away so that I would not use it.  I paid off that balance before the 18 months off so I never paid any interest on it. In the meantime I used my previous credit card as before and paid off its balance every month. So I paid no interest and got cash back on the original card, a good deal all the way around. The debit card paid nothing back so what was the point of having that? Of course one must be able to NOT charge anything extra on the second card, that's what gets people into trouble. My credit score has gone from 620 to 805 since I started this, so this really works. .

That would be a really good idea and something I would love to try, but I don't have enough credit to get approved for a credit card.  My ex-husband really helped to trash my credit so I'm just now working on fixing it.

I'll consider doing that; I just hate doing things on credit.  It's too easy to get in too deep.

But my friend Sara has been doing this for basically all purchases lately, and tells me that she's made considerable money this way.  If I decide to go that route I'll ask her which one to get, since she's done all the research.

Thanks.  Margret

I'm sure I'm worried over nothing, but Mickey has me a bit concerned.  He isn't eating.  John gave him his soft food and he just took a couple of nibbles then went back to sleep.  But he did get his shots earlier.  So that's probably all it is.  Right?

That would be my guess, but I'm not certain.  If he still isn't eating in the morning I'd call the vet.

I sometimes have trouble waking Jasmine up for meals, but all it means is that she's sleepy.
