Okay, so, it turns out that our little monster under the couch is really quite picky. She's been turning her nose up at any wet cat food that looks like... cat food. She likes the Whiskas Purrfectly chicken, but that looks like actual chunks or chicken, beef, and duck in gravy. I'm trying to get her to eat other flavors of Whiskas and that's not good enough. So, does anyone have any ideas? Does the Sheba look like real meat?

She doesn't like formed cubes... I don't know why.

Brands that are actual shredded meat are:
Tiki Cat
Weruva
Soulistic (Petco/Drs Foster & Smith)
Simply Nouris stews (Petsmart brand)
Cats in the Kitchen
Wellness Select

There are several others, too.

Also, the Fancy Feast trays, that use to be known as "Appetizers" are now 100% complete. The pouches are not.

I'd suggest Tiki Cat - it's pretty much shredded chicken breast in broth. It contains no starch/gum/carageenan/grains/veggies/etc .. it's really good, imo.

they make a ton of fish flavored foods though. i'd stay away from giving fish products everyday.. maybe just once or twice a week tops. Tiki Cat makes chicken/chicken & egg flavors too. They also have a "Gourmet Carnivore" line which also contains different meats and not just fish.

This is what their food looks like.

I'd personally avoid Soulistic because of it containing gum and a loooot of fish flavors. Wellness also contains carageenan, veggies and starch.

Robin is a picky eater, and strangely enough, he liked the Whiskas pouches too! But turns out he likes Merrick grain free duck. Really really likes it, a million times more than even Sheba. As for Whiskas, I just wasn't crazy about the ingredients, or the fact he only ate some of the pieces.

So surprised he liked Merrick, bc I'm pretty much a cynic. The prices aren't all that horrible, but I was recently told (gosh, I love TCS!!) about this brand:
http://www.chewy.com/cat/whole-earth-farms-grain-free-real/dp/115617
Which is owned by Merrick, almost identical ingredients, at about a buck per 5 oz can at Chewy.

So I'm wondering if maybe your cat might like the duck as well.

Hecate seems to be allergic to fish... So that limits me further.

If gravy is his thing, maybe adding this

might entice him to eat other canned foods?

She seems to love the Whiskas chicken and duck. When it comes to the Purrfectly Chicken, she loves all three varieties; chicken, chicken and duck, and chicken and beef.

The food I got her has gravy and she laps up the gravy and leaves the formed meat chunks. Which is essentially the same as not eating it. She's a brat. And she gets sneezy even from foods with fish broth, so anything fishy is out.

Oh!! That's how Robin was!! And he still licked the plate clean three times in a row with the Merrick duck. Almost four years old and he'd never done that before.

Merrick makes limited ingredient food as well (same cost) so you can easily avoid fish if you need to.

What is your kitty's breed, out of curiosity? Robin has a lineage very heavy with Siamese and while he can eat some fish, anything with salmon makes him very very sick. I've heard many Siamese have issues with certain protein sources.

Hmmm... I don't think she really has a breed. She's black, probably medium hair, (short on head, slightly longer on body, long on tail).

So, factoring in her preferences, her apparent allergy, and the general preference not to feed her vegetables, her options seems to be limited to:

Fussie Cat
*Chicken with Egg
. *Chicken in gravy
. *Chicken with Duck

Tiki Cat Gourmet Carnivore
*Chicken with Duck
. *Chicken & Liver
. *Beef & Lamb
. *Beef Liver & Lamb
. *Beef Liver & Chicken

Seems a bit limited... Anyone know any other options?

The Weruva has a lot of vegetables. I'll look into the Lotus.

There was something about the Weruva... If not vegetable, then fish in some form. I did look it up.
