So about a month ago I found a kitten where we live. I took her in and took her to the vet checked if she was microchipped and nothing....so we decided to keep her. She has not been fixed but she is a indoor cat now. Eventually I will be getting her fixed. However the other day I noticed her nipples were sticking out a lot more then when we got her. I plan on taking her to the vet when I get paid but in the mean time figured I would ask on here. I will post pics of her please let me know what you guys think.

Welcome, Chinita! It doesn't look like it to me as her nipples appear normal BUT I am no expert on this one. Still, keep her indoors only and I would go ahead and get her spayed right away, if possible. The vet can go ahead and spay her even if there is the slightest chance she is pregnant and early on. It is alright to do so. I know, hard, but there are way too many kittens that are in desperate need of homes, so best to go ahead and get that surgery scheduled.

Also - since she was a stray and you took her in then contact a TNR Organization in your county/area. You will qualify for a special rate to get her spayed, all of her shots, etc. It usually costs about $35.00 in my area per cat. They even do "friendlies" so don't worry that she is not a true feral cat. Most of these orgs. are very, very willing to help out the people in the community who take in these stray kitties!! You have saved many kittens from being born in the wild by taking her in and off of the "streets". :hugs: :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

You're fine touching her lightly, just not pressing down hard. you should feel little pops if she's far enough the it'll increase to full thumps as they grow inside of her

I still think this is not clear evidence of a pregnancy and it may be too early to tell. If she is a bit older then her nipples will appear this way normally and if she has a heat or two. Best to get her to the vet for a check and then get her spayed asap. :alright: :vibes::vibes::vibes:
No I'm 99.8 positive she's pregnant.. nipples pink up around 21 days. She's in early stages if she is

You may well have more experience than me then. Best to get this kitten to the vet for a check up to confirm and spay immediately.

I just woke up to a kitten on the floor in our bathroom. The mom is not paying it attention and it even has the placenta attached. Momma cats belly is still big not sure if she has more in there however she's just walking around like she didn't even have the kitten. Is there anything I can do for the kitten?

Is the kitten alive?? It needs to be kept warm. it cannot regulate it's own body temperature yet. If momma cat's still looking round, there are probably more kittens in there. It is normal for there to be time lapses in between births. You can use a warm, wet washcloth to gently remove the placenta. Is the momma cat very young?

Please make a nest for her. A box or something that she can have them in. Put an old blanket or towel in it and put it in a place where she will feel secure. You might want to make more than one so she can choose which one she likes better. Put the kitten in the nest and then put momma cat in it. Try to get her to lay down in the nest and if she does, put the kitten near her so she can at least keep it warm.

I'd go get some Pet Ag kitten milk replacement (KMR) or some goat's milk if you can't find KMR and a small syringe from a pet store just in case you end up having to help her out with feeding. a heating pad under the blanket or towel, a hot water bottle or a sock filled with rice and warmed in the microwave is good to have in the nest as a heat source. If you use the hot water bottle or sock with rice, please wrap it in a towel so it isn't too hot. If she has more kittens and is able to nurse, it's still good to have the KMR or goat's milk around in case you need to supplement that and even if you don't, it's good for the momma cat as well.

The kitten is alive it was just laying on the floor and I tried to lay her with the baby I have a bunch of sheets for her and even a little box but she wants nothing to do with the baby and the baby was getting cold so I put a towel over a heating pad and have the baby laying on there. Do I leave the placenta attached?

I think mom got a bit overwhelmed. If you can, try to get her to settle at a nice nesting spot (you can for example make a box with some towels in it and hope she deems it fit to continue giving birth), once she's settled, place the baby with the mom and keep a very good eye on them to make sure mom starts caring for it and won't try to hurt it.

In the mean time, keep the baby warm and you can get rid of the placenta. The best way to cut the cord is by having sterile scissors and by cutting of the bloodflow between kitten and placenta before detaching it. You can read more about how to do this and some more information here: http://www.thecatsite.com/a/help-my-cat-is-having-kittens

Please pinch the cord with your fingers and detach the placenta and discard it!
