A carer must have left the door open and Daisy has gone, my neigbours have looked all over and l have left doors and window open. The last l saw was her belting round the front of my flat, if it had been though the gardens at the back l think the birds would have slowed her down as she watches through the window all the time. No one will be able to pick her up as she won't let me pick her up. I have left the doors open an l keep going to shout her name. I don't know what else to do .With her not letting people near her l haven't got a lot of hope as a cat who is friendly people are better to help.
I don't know what else to do,its 5 hours ago when she went,

Jilly

Well no news about Daisy l will have to close my front door soon and l feel as if l am closing her out but there has been quite a few burglreys round her when doors have been left open.

I was trying to get her to let me lift her up but she was going scatty when l tried and even though she trusts me she still bolts if l get up. Just before it happened l was stroking her tummy and she looked in heaven. I get a lot of birds outside and she watched them for hours and l think they were the reason why she went.

Well am going to have to close my front door, everyone please let her come home,

Jilly

AS I understand it, he is a shy inside only cat?   Not really used to you?

If so, the probability is quite high he will try and hide somewhere near, and be in that hidey as long as he manages.   He she isnt used to roam outside, so she will try to avoid it.  Unless scared silly to run for her life.

The problem is, its not at all sure he will come out when you are calling him.

You may try, but its not sure she will come out...    Mine didnt in a similiar situation, he was shy, but still he was our home boy, quite fond of us...  But panicked, he sat quit although we were searching after him nearby...

In the end, it will probably be the question of catching her with a humane trap, once somebody sees her and she is localized.

so whatever you do, get home a humane trap, let people around know you are searching, and let them know your cell phone number, and wait on the call.

Do patrol yourself too, so they do see you are bothering and seeking.  As long as they see YOU do bother, they will bother and try and help.

Oh, I'm so sorry to read about Daisy! I have been following your progress for the last few months and was so pleased she was doing better! Maybe she will get hungry and come home - she knows you to be the source of all good things in her life. My fingers are crossed for you!

Mega vibes for Daisy.  I know how frantic I would be if Mouse got out as it is extra hard when you have a cat you know isn't used to the outdoors too.  Must hope that she has come home since you last posted but either way -   24 hours a day vibes

If she is still not showing up at your door or window (and no it is not safe to leave them open sadly), can you leave anything familiar to her out at your door or window, something with your scent on that might help her know she is 'home', and maybe a little of her regular food in a bowl?

Sounds she likes such as her Meow toy, anything, are worth trying as they could attract her attention if she has only run a short distance and then hidden somewhere.  As she has not been outdoors as far as you are aware she could have bolted a short distance and then hidden well, very frightened.  With dark and quieter outside it is always possible she will try to venture back.  Cats can get stuck in places and take time to get let out so do not loose hope even if she is not back today or tomorrow.  A former colleague of mine had her 6 year old cat go missing and 2 weeks later a neighbour said they found the poor cat in their garden shed, still alive as had managed to find water and who knows what to eat!

Also if you have any photographs you can get copied and share them with neighbours, local shops, anywhere where people might see her.  You want to take care with what contact information you give though, and maybe get family to help out there?

Really feel for you and hoping you have good news for us at some point.

Jilly, if she is very nervous setting a humane trap will probably be the easiest way to get her back. Are you in the UK? I think the PDSA have a TNR program so they might be able to either lend you a trap or let you know where you can get one. Some vets have traps too.

If she has never been outside before she won't go far. She'll find somewhere quiet and hide there until she's either hungry enough or brave enough to try and get home. Leave some of her favourite food outside your house and sprinkle her used cat litter around the outside of your house and garden so it smells like home to her.

What's your neighbourhood like? Any feral cats? Any foxes or other wildlife?

Don't give up. One of my cats was gone for almost a month and she was fine when I found her again.

Take a look at this thread, there might be some tips on here you can use.

This was another shy cat who got out for the first time.

OH dear, I am SO sorry about Daisy getting out and lost. :eek:hno: I just want to add in that putting out her used litter box is another tip that some use to help their cats find their way back home. I don't know what to add other than what everyone else is suggesting but I am certainly sending out truckloads of vibes that Daisy returns home to you very, very soon. My heart goes out to you during this worrisome and stressful time. We are here for you. :hugs: :grphug: and TCS magical VIBES do help!! :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: COME HOME, Daisy. :rub: :cross:

l got in touch with the cat protection as we do not  have a pdsa in my town and as soon as they know the area were Daisy is they will lend me a trap but l haven't a clue were she is. Have had doors and windows open till 9.15 tonight. I have put used litter outside and food and treats.

I can't type anymore as am in terrible pain, think worrying about Daisy has made it worse.

Thank you for getting in touch,

     Jill

Don't loose hope, she could be somewhere very close and all the things you have put outside will help her to know where her home is.

Do you have any photographs of her to let people know near by so they too can look out for her?

You've given Daisy a great signpost to her home. There's still every chance that she'll bring herself home. She may be closer than you think. Come home soon, Daisy-girl :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

It may take her a few days, but don't give up hope.  I know how difficult it can be.  You are in my thoughts.

:vibes: We just had a woman return a trap today. It took 4 days, but her escaped semiferal cat is home safe and sound. He'd stuck to her block and neighbors had spotted him a few times, but the trap was really needed.

Keep hoping, and keep your home welcoming for her.   We are all willing her to make her way home.

No good news, it makes me feel worse the longer it goes on. I see pictures of her running to me and every time l look at the window sill l see her showing her tummies for tickling. She used to sleep on a rug in the living room since it got warmer and when l woke up to go to the loo she was awake and would run to me. I also her her running the whole length of the apartment.

A neighbor said yesterday  to me 'you won't see her again'  it really knocked me.,

Today had lots to do as my laptop  blew up and took my home phone with it Nealy lost all my food n the freezer but just got it back.

Just going to have tea, its one oft those weeks, just wish she wasn't so scared as l imaging her hiding and frightened

:hugs: I'm so sorry Jilly. Don't lose hope - there's still every chance Daisy will turn up. It's only been a few days. We're all rooting for her to find her way home :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

Aw Jilly. We are all going to stay positive for you and for Daisy that she will find her way back home. I am so sorry about this suffering you are enduring and I am keeping you close AND those vibes coming. Hang in there as best you can, I know it must be awful for you right now, and the not knowing part is the worst of all. We are here for you and I know of many kitties that have gone missing to be returned and/or found their way back home even weeks later so don't give up hope! There was just recently a kitty lost in our neighborhood. The owner's put up flyer's all over on every corner possible. They did everything such as you are doing too. The cat was missing for four weeks and just one day they heard meowing from a bush next to their deck and there he was. Miracles DO happen. :cross: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes:

Feralvr has wise words there, and you know we are all with you in spirit, willing Daisy to return.  Do not give up hope no matter what that neighbour said.  Cats do return, even timid ones who are not used to being outside.  Do what you can to let people in the neighbourhood know you are looking for Daisy, and stay strong.

I am thinking of you and Daisy.  I had a feral cat that was gone for 8 months.  I was certain he had died.  Yet after 8 months he returned to me.  Can you leave out something that smells like her such as a special bed or towel.  I hope you can get a trap soon as that might just work.  Also checking for a trail camera.  You can mount one near your house and see if you would see her at night.  Maybe you can borrow one or buy one fairly cheap.  I had one from Amazon that was around $50 (US).
