Good morning.

It's been such nice weather recently that I spend nearly all day outdoors working on the garden. Then I come in and realise I still have dishes to wash, laundry to fold and floors to vacuum. Yuck!

What household chore do you hate the most?

I don't mind most chores, I actually enjoy cleaning but I hate cooking. I'm a terrible cook and I usually end up burnt, cut or scalded and with something virtually inedible to show for it.

How about you?

Happy Saturday.

I don't like doing laundry. It's not that it's difficult, but it's time consuming. I can't hang it outside because I'm not supposed to cart heavy baskets of wet laundry up to the back of the property where the clothes line is located (I'm not supposed to lift more than 5 pounds, but I do more often than not). But it's the separating, then carting the dirty stuff to the basement and throwing it in the washer. Transferring it to the dryer. Then bringing each load back upstairs to fold it and put it all away. It's just such a hassle for me. It's something that seems to take forever.

Polishing the furniture, I hate having to move things around and putting everything back again.  It is worth it tho cause everything looks and smells so good after.

I hate cleaning bathrooms and kitchens - especially if the job has been left a little longer than it should have.

Unfortunately,we have a holiday cottage, and guess who always has to do the kitchen and bathroom  It never ceases to amaze me how filthy a place can get in a week (or even a weekend).

Unloading the dishwasher.  I don't mind doing the dishes, but putting them away is a PITA for me.  The only good part of it is knowing everything was put back where it belongs.  My BF has a habit of inventing new places, which make no sense, for items that have lived in specific places for years.

I don't like laundry either, but only because I have to cart everything down to the basement of the apartment and then back up to hang dry... and it's expensive. If I had in-suite laundry, I would have no problem, and my next dreaded would be cleaning the bath tub. It's just never clean enough and it feels futile. I've lived here two years and have never felt comfortable running a bath.

I'm glad I'm not the only one! It's not so bad at home, because it only gets run every other day, but it's 3 or 4 times a day at the shelter, and often one shift will leave it for the next to empty.

That happens in our house, too, and we've lived here for 20 years!  So our agreement is that hubby rinses/loads the dishwasher and I unload.

I don't like doing the work I had to do every weekend when I was a kid: mowing the lawn, cleaning bathrooms, mopping and vacuuming, and dusting. I also cooked dinner every night starting at age 7,  and although get tired of it sometimes but I don't mind cooking so much these days.

I like doing laundry even though we have a "laundry dungeon" (washer and dryer in unfinished basement), we are moving in a couple of months and the new house has a nice laundry area so I'm pretty psyched about that.

Another one here for laundry. It just takes SO long!  Waiting for one load to dry, so you can put the next one in the dryer. (I don't have a place to hang wash out here, but wouldn't anyway because of the high pollen count.) Then you have to fold & put it all away. Actually, that's what I've been doing most of the day today.

I had 3 big loads. Whites, colors, & sheets & towels together. Then, I noticed in one of Angel's bed there was a pee & litter spot in it, so he must have gotten in there before cleaning himself.
so now I have that in there & I just washed it two weeks ago! Little stinker!  I threw his blanket in there w/ it as well.

I usually do laundry more often, so I don't have so much (it's just Angel & I here), but I had a friend in town last weekend, so it didn't get done.

I would say cleaning the bathroom.  I think my mother didn't like that one either because it was my first regular housecleaning chore as child, well I guess actually my second picking up after myself being the first.

I actually like doing laundry
There's nothing like the fresh clean smell of warm laundry
My least favorite chore is vacuuming. I need to get a Roomba so I don't have to push a machine around and trip over the electric cord

I love my Roomba!
It picks up a lot of cat hair and dust.  But it has its limitations.  We have a big dining room and long hallway and it's great for cleaning up those open areas.  But I've told people that it's like having another pet sometimes!   I'll come home from work and see that it's not on its base and tell hubby, "Roomby's lost again!"  and we have to go looking for him--usually he's got stuck under a piece of furniture somewhere or has got too far from his base to find his way back 'home' before the batteries run out.

That's funny! They do look like a little creature bumbling around, don't they? They should give them a voice so they can chirp or mew or something whenever they get lost.

My sister used to have one, but she's got really long hair and has a big, long haired dog and the poor Roomba choked and died.

i actually don't enjoy cleaning at all, any kind of cleaning. but i do it and get it over with, so the kitties and i can enjoy our home.

the household chore i hate the most is washing the dishes. i even am really good about soaking things in hot soapy water so there's no stuck on stuff on the dishes. the actual washing of dishes is bad enough, but then there's the stiff back i get from standing with my back angled to lean down slightly while doing the dishes. and i just give my dishes a basic wash and rinse, then stack them in the dishwasher to get fully washed/disinfected/steam dried -- i only need to run the dishwasher about every 9 or 10 days.

I have to say I hate ironing. I always vow to never let it get behind again. But I put it off and before I know it, it is an all day job. I rather clean the toilets. :lol3:

I don't like doing laundry. It's too time consuming, by the time I gather it all up from our bedroom and both kids rooms, wash, dry, fold and put away. My 2 year old likes to unfold things as I'm folding them too which makes it take even longer. She loves helping me put the laundry in the dryer, I hand it to her and she puts everything in while saying "daddy's shirt, mommy's shirt, Hudson's shirt, my shirt" and telling me what everything is.
She loves to press the button to start the laundry too. I love her helping but it makes it take even longer.

I really dislike cleaning the bathrooms.Especially the showers. We have hard water here and it is just so hard to get the showers cleaned.I tend to put it off. Any other type of cleaning is fine.
