At the moment, the girls like:

Nutro Natural choice minced and sliced varieties

Nature's Variety Instinct (with NNC mixed in, not on it's own)

Pride by Instinct

Nature's Variety Prairie Homestyle

Wellness Divine Duos

Natural Balance pouches (they are losing enthusiasm on this one though)

Weruva Cats in the Kitchen Chicken Frick a Zee

Soulistic Good Karma and Harvest Sunrise

The favorites out of the rotation are the Wellness Divine Duos for Lilith and the Pride by Instinct for Sophie. They both eat all of these kinds but not more than once in a day. I often mix and match flavors and textures in their dishes to keep their meals from getting boring. They do not eat any dry food

Four cats..... Just adopted two kittens.

I had been feeding two FF pate but it was getting off and on. When it was ore off than on, I tried other foods. Most with few or no carbs. It was getting hard and expensive. ARGH

Kittens came home with Precise Chicken. All seem to like it! I also put out EVO dry but put water on it because one of the babies is a male. Some days they eat me out of house and home on canned and on other days they prefer the wet Evo....

Now, I want to get wet food into them. Lots of Water..... so I will feed any dry they will eat soaked in water, and whatever canned they will eat. But I am not beyond letting it sit in the dish for 8 or 9 hours and after a good play they all are hungry!

All my morals/ideas of what cat food to feed them have been dashed.... I am now outnumbered. I had a chance with two, not with four!

PS   I do want to make the food at least grain free if not carb free.

Carb free canned is expensive since there is no cheap fillers. Stuff like tiki cat. At that point it is at about the same price as commercial raw. To save a lot of money homemade raw would be worth looking into.

oh Canada~
Well PD is chefs dinner a pate and does it have a fish in it? Also is health food a brand in Canada? I am always looking for alternative choices?
Yes, it is a pate and it does have fish in it. I "savour" a 5.5oz can as long as I can with a quarter or half a tablespoon in a meal here and there, so fortunately it's not like feeding a full fish-based meal, as fish is one of my concerns as well. Our cats get a total of one 5.5oz can of fish-based food a week, max. Some weeks I just plain forget about it and they don't get a fish flavour in the mix.

I apologize, I got the name wrong. The other food is actually called Health Diet, and it's a Pet Valu store brand. It seems pretty cheap as well, also contains rice flour and fish. The good yet affordable food I've found, though it is hit or miss with the cats' preferences, is Performatrin, another Pet Valu store brand. If you have a Pet Valu nearby, even in their US stores they carry those two brands. Going into a pet store and just grabbing new foods off the shelves to try is a great idea. My only requirement is that it be corn-free. Even if it's on par with Friskies and Health Diet, I can always supplement better nutrients with higher end foods and toss in these foods as kind of a "treat" in a meal.

I recently acquired an old cat who only ate dry so I have tried a TON of different foods from all types of wellness, NV instinct, natural balance, pro plan, Fancy Feast, EVO, etc. Won't eat any of them. So heres the ones he will eat:

Whole Paws (whole foods brand) chicken, turkey, giblet dinner

Line and Pole Deck Hand tuna cat food (another Whole Foods exclusive)

Weruva Truluxe steak frites

Soulistic Tri-fusion and chicken/talapia in gelee. Will try more of these.

I have been sneaking different proteins like duck into his foods when he's really hungry in the hopes that he will one day enjoy more than just chicken, beef, and tuna.

I only have one cat, she loves Fancy Feast wet food. I give her one can a day at night, in the morning she eats dry food. I am going to get the Fancy Feast dry food for her, I just found out they made it. she gets snacks two to three a day. Friskies party mix, she LOVES Beachside!!!

Trader Joes canned. I feed them all but the fish. They've been on it for 2 years without rotation or complaints. I would give them Buffalo Blue dry food every other day to shake things up a bit

It has been a struggle after reading all the dos and don'ts.  They (Peter and Sophie) seem to like Cats in the Kitchen - chicken (made in Thailand) and sometimes Merrick - Cowboy Cookout.  The male really likes dry so have to ration him - dry Fromm and Origen.  Someone mentioned foods from other countries and there is one in the specialty shops made in Iceland.  Comes in pouches and all have lamb as a basis. My cats don't like it but my cats are fussy.  Another one I've tried which should only be used as a supplement is Almo Nature, just meat.  Made in Canada and the US

My guy is hooked on the flaked/minced tuna from Nature's Variety PRIDE line... although he only gets it occasionally. P: He usually gets the rabbit while I'm working on transitioning him onto raw, which he still eats but not with quiiite as much excitement hahaha.

My cats have decided that now they like Iams Chicken & Turkey Pate .

It is not the best but I cannot be picky when it comes to ingredients as my cats are not

crazy at all about eating wet food so when they decide they like something I have to go with it .

I hope they stay with it for awhile . I only feed them wet once a day as they get sick of it faster if I try to give more ..

I think I'm going to have to try the Natures Variety Pride line.   Comments here seem their cats love it.   Mine already eats a few in the Instinct line but I don't think its one of her favorites.

Chicken (Chicken Frick A Zee).  It actually looks very good - just meat juices and some of the regular additives.  It is canned in Thailand for Weruva.  The male will eat it but he sometimes tries to eat only some in order to get dry.  He is so addicted to dry, will march over to the female's dish to scarf hers.  I limit them both to 1/2 C dry per day.  If he's hungry I offer Merrick chicken or beef.  Male will eat if really hungry.

I make sure lots of water is available via those bubble water bowls.

Yes very spoiled

Regards, Susan

Our cats love that one, too! They like two other foods from the Weruva Cats in the Kitchen line: Fowl Ball (turkey and chicken) and Double Dip (beef and chicken).

My cat's second favorite wet food is now Fancy Feast turkey pate for kittens. *sigh* #1 is still Iams kitten chicken pate, now Fancy Feast kitten turkey pate, then third is Fancy Feast turkey and giblets pate.

She will not touch seafood or any non-pate wet food and does not eat the other Fancy Feast Classics. I'm trying to give her less dry kibble to force her to eat more of the wet food when she has one of her kitten pates. Does anyone else's cat like kitten chicken or turkey pate, but doesn't like the other Fancy Feast Classics? If so, what other wet food will your cat eat?

Eventually, I will try the more expensive wet food brands...but for now I've changed my mind about trying to feed my cat Purina One and will buy her Orijen chicken & kitten kibble since she eats so little...I would be concerned except one of my sister's cats was a small, 7 lbs cat also and she hardly ate most of the time and was healthy. We'd say she liked to "watch her figure".
