Very good book although it was a little difficult to read in parts.

Just finished The Language of Sand by Ellen Block. It was only ok as I found the storyline didn't have enough depth at all.

Now reading Magic City by Jewell Parker Rhodes.

I finished The Hunger Games trilogy a couple of days ago and now I am reading Deadlocked (Sookie Stackhouse). I'm finding it boring so far...it gives too much detail on what she is doing constantly and there is no real storyline yet. I'm only on chapter 3, but so far it is just random.

Im rereading "The Secret History" by Donna Tartt

I can't for the life of me figure out what it is about this book that makes me love it so much.  But someone from here recommended it, and they didn't know why they liked it so much either. So I was intrigued!  I've since recommended it to others, and they all loved it, but had no idea why!

Well worth the read!

I agree, I still haven't finished it...I am almost at the end and it does get a little better but COME ON!!! I do not need to know who ordered what at Merlotte's and how many pitchers of iced tea and burgers Alcide had ...seriously...

An incredible book! Thought provoking and heart wrenching.

So now I've jumped on the bandwagon... Reading Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James.

I'm curious about that one. They banned it from our local library.
Not a genre of book that interests me. It's basically an older man meets younger virgin and turns her into a sex slave.  Essentially BDSM stuff.  And it's very graphic in nature.  That's the only reason it's so popular, because sex sells and people have become curious about what all the hoopla about the book is.

Yeah, the only reason I'm reading it is because my aunt actually recommended it to me. It wasn't something I would normally be interested in but she promised me that it has a pretty decent storyline to go along with all of the other stuff. Also, the man isn't that much older. She's 21 and he's only 27. I thought there was more of an age difference.

That doesn't sound like my cup of tea either.

Yeah, 6 years isn't that much. When I was 18, my BF was 27 and we dated for 4 years.

So is your aunt right? The "sex slave" thing kinda bothers me.

Glad someone else feels the same way. It just feels like she may have wrote a book that was 100 pages and then wrote the rest as filler. I found all of the Sookie Stackhouse books to be like this, but Deadlocked is definitely the worst.

I'm reading a Lee Child novel called "Persuader".  I'm at page 175 and I just realized that I've read it before. But I've kept reading because it was so long ago I forget how it ends,  lol

Doughnuts for Amy.  Can't remember the author right now- it's on my Kindle.  I've actually gotten a couple of really good free books on there- I've got this "free books and Kindle tips" app that sends me new titles every day.

In the hold queue at the library for the latest Alexander McCall Smith book (the No. 1 Lady's Detective Agency series).  Can't remember the name of that one either- but that's still a cute series.

I took a break from "A Feast For Crows" and whipped through "Sarah's Key". A friend loaned it to me and I inhaled it in one day - happened to have the day off, so I just stayed inside and read.... LOVE days like that!!! :D

Such a good book. I wept at the end. I realized that the story sounded familiar, and then checked and it was made into a movie and released last year.

I'm reading Deadlocked, the new Sookie Stackhouse series..I don't like it so far :( The quality is like a free book...horrible! But I am in love with those characters so I want to keep reading about them, so I will finish it..
I have that on reserve at the library.

On my Nook:

Nightwood - Charles Frazier

Golden Lies - Barbara Freethy (first time reading a book of hers)

Body Work - Sara Paretsky

Unmasking Kelsey - Kay Hooper

Dating can Be Deadly - Wendy Roberts

And I'm re-reading Dying for Chocolate - Diane Mott Davidson

I've seen several from the Outlander series as e-books from my library. I may have to check them out.

I just finished Mercy by Jussi Adler-Olsen, a Danish thriller, and really liked it. It's also been released as The Keeper of Lost Causes. There are several other books in the "Department Q" (cold case) series, but they don't seem to have been translated into English yet, except for Disgrace, which will be released June 21. The German translations have been out for a while, so I'll probably read them.
