hairball prevention pastes

I'm wondering how much to use. I'm giving some to Mishmish, my semi-long haired tigress. She loves the stuff, so I can give her as much as needed.

On the tube it says to give about 2 inches of paste everyday. Sounds like too much to me, as I know it prevents the absorption fat-soluble vitamins.

I was wondering, how much do people give their cats?

I gave up on the paste a long time ago. I only have 1 cat that will take it willingly. I switched to using Nutro hairball formula mixed half with the regular food. It worked like a charm. I dont know about the paste robbing them of nutrients.
