My cats paw leather is really dry and rough. Do you have any recommendations as to what I can do? Is a lotion like Cetaphil cream, which is hypoallergenic and fragrance free OK to use, or should I stick with something like petroleum jelly (isn't petroleum jelly a home remedy for hairballs?)? I used clay litter for a long time, and his paw leather was always really dry and rough, then I switched to crystals and his paws got very smooth and soft, and now they are dry and rough again. It drives me nuts!

Yes they even say to put the petrolium on the paws to get them to lick it off for hairballs. Also bag balm is a good moisturizer for dry pads in animals.

I agree with Sandy. I keep Bag Balm in my house at all times. I also use a pine litter and have no problems. Good luck and please keep us posted.
