Hi there, this is my first post and I was searching on the internet for some info on torn claws. My cat Shalimar tore off his claw somehow and I used "Quik Stop" to stop the bleeding but I am worried about how to care for his little paw. The claw is still hanging on and I tried bandaging it but he keeps taking it off. Is there anyone who has had this happen to their kitty before that could give me some advice? Does he need to go to the vet?
A little worried......
Mary

Well, the first thing is how did it happen? Where is it torn at? If it is just at the quick, then clip the excess off. If it is really closer to the actual socket, then I would get to the vet. If it has gone deep enough it may require some antibiotics to keep an infection from starting. Especially if it happened outdoors.
