Nope, it got changed 1/2 way through with a new post.

Unreg Persians, 2-3 year old girl and baby boy they want to have a litter of those two cats when the boy is older.

That should catch you up a bit

thanx for not bashing(or trying to frighten me).I am a VERY involved parent of four one Him (rescued),one tabby(rescued) and siamese twins-14 yrs from a non-fixed mom that was getting spayed..I kept her kids.....unfortunately she died at over 20, last year.
I am NOT breeding cats!...I will never pretend to know what you guys go through, but I am THE MOST RESPONSIBLE mom ....I volunteer at the apparently only no-cage,no-kill shelter in Canada... since it opened and did keep the kittens of a pregnant mom see above,
I just have a sweet babe(rescuedand non-registered) that we both would love to have kids,and KEEP THEM ALL.Just so happens I have a dear friend in the US that has a male Persian ...baby...We would love to have a litter together and then fix BOTH.JUST for us...and NOONE seems want to help with the info....cause its about love NOT money and they know to say s/n.

Well, the thing is, breeding can be dangerous, mainly for the female (pregnancy and birth are always risky). And of course it's risky for your friends to keep their male intact past sexual maturity, because he'll likely start to spray if not neutered by a certain age, and many cats who begin spraying are put to sleep. So really 2 cats' lives are at risk here, and taking that kind of risk to produce more pets, when there are already SO many pet-quality cats in the world.....not really a great idea.

If your cat has kittens, you ARE breeding cats.....I don't know why so many people insist they aren't breeders, when they are clearly breeding . It's not like being a breeder is a bad thing, I don't know why they refuse being called as such. That's common in the dog world, as well. So a note: If you breed your animals, you are a breeder.

You have been given info, it's not a good idea to be breeding your cats. You have no idea of their pasts, you haven't tested them for genetic faults etc.

The female is at great risk being 3 years old and entire, and then waiting for the boy to grow up making her even older before she is mated.

I do suggest that scare tactics DO NOT work.Some of us layman are quite well informed.I hope that the time you have taken out of your day to reply, has served whatever purpose you wishes to serve.
i do understand the mentality and parameters at 'breeders corner',much better now

I don't want to frighten you at all but perhaps if you guys want extra kitties you could get those fixed and adopt a couple? You'll be getting your extra babies and helping save some homes too.

BUT..
because I get it and we both want them fixed after this one time try, and are loving animal rescue people, with means and lifestyles to care for all of the babies in forever homes (our own)with no intention of it interfering with adopting any others...
is it against all rules to give informed advise?....if it is please let me know

Problem is, I'm not sure what advice you're wanting? You already said you're well-informed about breeding, and I don't think any breeder will help you with a breeding they consider ill-advised. A cat that age having her first litter is not something most breeders would consider, so I think any advice you'd get from experienced breeders would be not to breed that particular cat.....if you really want to get into breeding, procuring a younger breeding-quality cat would probably be their best advice.

Do you want to know about shipping a cat to Canada? I know shipping within the U.S. will cost about $400. Less if the cat travels with a human, but of course you have to buy the human's ticket as well. I don't know what health certificates a cat would need to travel to Canada from the U.S. Maybe Customs would have that info for you. You'd need at least a Rabies certificate, possibly proof of the other vaccines as well. And a signed health certificate from a vet.

Personally, I wouldn't ship a cat unattended. But lots of breeders do it, so I know it can be done safely. I'm not sure of the details, though.

Cleo came from North Carolina with no problem.
Wrinkles came from San Diego and was missing.

I'm not sure why you "don't get it" - we are just as concerned about your cats as you are. The female will be too old for breeding by the time the male is mature. And in the meantime you are putting her health at risk by allowing her to keep going and and out of heat cycles.

She can develop pyrometra (infection of the uterus) which will either kill her or you'll end up spaying her anyway.

She also may need an expensive c-section, you could lose the kittens, et.

Please please just spay her and don't think about breeding an unknown, not registered cat just so you can keep the kittens.
