Just because it's not right out your back door or happening within your culture or family doesn't make it any better that there are people who still believe that molesting children is okay.

The story gives me enough reason to feel the way I do, at least towards him. I think I'm allowed to have an opinion on the subject, even if this is the first time I've ever heard of it. I'm sure now I'll be much more interested in looking up exactly what sort of culture these people have.

Sorry, but sooooo not true. Child abuse and sexual stimuli are two completely different things. Children start stimulating themselves (and each other) sexually very very early. This is a natural part of their growth process, and there are no ill mental effects left behind. This is an old old old taboo.

Would it have been better to say "introducing a child into sex with older man"? I was refering to child abuse, I was refering to a man having sexual intercourse and fondling a little girl.

This is not a story about two children, it is a story about a man who should know better, and a girl who doesn't know enough about her own body yet to even begin to comprehend pregnancy and child rearing.

Yes children do start experiencing stimulation rather early, but speaking from experience, I can look back on my life and know that I didn't know what I was doing, touching, or really feeling at 9 years old and at 11, I certainly wouldn't have been developed enough or ready for a grown man to put his penis in me.

Children just don't do that, I can't remember ever "experimenting" that way as a child because that is just not natural.

It is possible that you didn't or don't remember it- but it's not like children think sexual thoughts. It is normal if they stimulate themselves and don't even know what sex is, don't know what the opposite sex looks like naked, etc...It is just a physical response nothing more..


As bad as it may sound, i'll be blunt and just say I don't think their culture is equal and different..To me it's clear they are not equal and different, they are wrong IMO. I think it is wrong to marry at 11..
It's just like when people talk about how we should be tolerant of Muslim theocracies where women have less rights legally than dogs do..Well no, that's wrong and I'm not going to be tolerant of it, I'm calling it out.

I actually meant that I don't ever remember experimenting by actual sexual intercourse. Which is something that I do not believe is naturally done between children.

So Sex doesn't mean the same thing to a child as it does to an older person, just like kids who explore their own bodies don't right away see it as "masturbating" and a sexual thing, and therefore I think it is wrong for an older person to take advantage of an innocence.
