I just couldn't take it anymore!!!

I had to go out and buy myself an electric blanket!!!

I love my new conventional bed! The mattress I bought is like sleeping on a cloud! But man! I'm freezing to death! I'm so used to getting into a warm water bed after 28 or so years of sleeping on one, that to sleep in a regular unheated bed is equivalent to sleeping naked, outside at the North Pole!!

I put it on the bed and have it turned on so that I'll be toasty warm when I get into bed tonight

We do that too when it gets really cold out. But cold here is not like cold in snow/blizzard country. I think 30-40 degrees freezing!

We use an electric mattress pad. Oh man! Turn it on 1 hour before we go to bed. Sweet!

We don't heat the upstairs so our bedroom is always very chilly. But this pad is like heaven!

My old mom liked her electric blanket as well. I end up tossing all the covers off me and we have the heat turned down at night to around 60 so I would stifle if hubby insisted on an electric blanket.

Maybe you need to get some more cats so they can sleep surrounding you and you'll be all toasty warm.

We've been thinking of purchasing one because we live in an older home which can be quite chilly climbing into bed at night. Of course hubby's solution is just to turn the heat up .

However we don't let the animals sleep on our bed (okay I don't let them) because we've got 2 big dogs, 4 cats & occasionally 1 toddler (and soon one newborn!) I have a feeling when we get an electric blanket the 'sneaking up a night' is going to get a whole lot worse!!!

What brand did you get?
Can you let us know how you like it?

In high school, I worked one winter on a ranch in Colorado. The room I slept in had no heat, and the nearest heat was 2 rooms away.

If I left a glass of water on the dresser, it would be frozen solid to the bottom of the glass by morning.

I slept under an electric blanket there. It was turned all the way up, and I learned how to sleep with just my nose sticking out.

Warm waterbed now!

I have a queen sized electric blanket that I bought four years ago. I used it for about a month then I moved here. It's been in the closet in a plastic bag since then.

My apartment is on the third floor. Heat rises and apparently the people below me like it hot.

It annoys me no end that I spent all that money and never use the thing.

Too bad, you should have told me you wanted one. I could have sent it to you.

I love my electric blanket. I turn it on high for about an hour before I go to bed. It can be -40C outside, but I will be nice and toasty under my blanket

I just could not handle an electric blanket. We like to sleep cool, we turn the heat down and keep our door closed. We even shut the vents off in the bedroom. We have two fatties that like to snuggle, and sometimes that overheats us and the feet come out of the blankets. It seems to help me if I get hot, to get my feet out of the covers. DH is the same way. but the cats make it tough sometimes!

This is the way to go! I love an electric pad better than an electric blanket! Talk about heaven your right!

Oh and BTW for others that might not know for electric blankets you can have your side at your perfect temperature and the other person (or fur-ball) can set it to their perfect temperature.

Oh wow I have to get one of those...
I live in Atlanta so it's not all that cold, it rarely gets below 20 but the lowest it has been was 18 degrees...
But, I am cold blooded, I'm always cold ...I have a space heater on in my room all the time, sometimes turned to 85...
