Hello from Florida!

Hi Everyone!
Well I've already posted a couple of times and gotten some great advice since I joined yesterday, but I thought I'd take a moment to formally introduce myself and my kitty kids!

I am Brooke. It would be an understatement to say that my four sphynx cats are my obsession, my passion, and the absolute loves of my life!

I adopted my first sphynx, Harold, in 2008. Just months after I got him he was diagnosed with HCM and congestive heart failure. He was gone almost as quickly as he had come into my life, but not before he had changed me forever. He was an angel, and I was hooked.

Now I'm the proud Mom of 4 more naked kitties, all rescues. Walter is my goofball, a 2.5 year old brown tabby who loves anything with feathers on it and talks constantly. Helen, my crazy calico, is 8 years old and is retired from a traveling circus sideshow. You would never know she's as old as she is, because she plays non-stop. Nelson and Mandy are my newest additions to the family, 3 years old. He's a tux and she's a tortie. They were a breeding pair that were dropped at the SPCA by someone who just "got tired of breeding them". Mandy definitely has "tortitude" (snuggles are on HER terms, lol) and she loves to climb anything she can get her nails into. Nelson is the sweetest of the bunch, full of snuggles and headbutts and is content to sit on my lap 24/7 - and I'm okay with that!!

So, that's my nudist colony, in a nutshell.

Welcome to the site Brooke! I love that your Sphynx are rescues. Thanks for giving them the best life.

I have 3 sphynx right now, and am breeding them. I just need them to breed in order to call myself a breeder LOL. My girls are torties and my boy is a brown mackerel tabby and white Van. I have 8 cats altogether, and I can't imagine my life without them. Even hubby has grown to be a crazy cat guy LOL.

I hope you post so we can all get to know you better

Yes, I don't know how it happened! I do plan to get a pedigreed sphynx kitten someday and just when I think I'm ready, another rescue finds me, and I just can't turn down a naked cat in need!

I'm also a caretaker for 5 furry kitties that showed up outside of my office 3 years ago. They were just a feral mom and kittens then, so I worked on socializing them and when they were old enough did a trap, neuter, vaccinate & release. Sonny, Candi, T-Bone, Princess, & Timmy have been living there ever since. They are my kitties away from home, and often the only reason I can tolerate going to work! (Fortunately my employer is also a cat-lover)
