My poor sweet Badger
I am completely heartbroken. I had to say goodbye to my 1 and 1/2 year old cat, Badger, this morning.
Less than 2 weeks ago, I noticed he was losing weight. I took him in and the vet felt something in his stomach. He did an exploratory surgery and found a 4 inch tumor blocking his small intestine. The vet cut out the tumor and sent it in to pathology to see if it was benign or malignant. He seemed to get better the first couple of days after surgery but then he began to get frail. This morning, his stomach seemed bloated and I called the vet to see if I could bring him in. The vet got on the phone and he just received the pathology report. It wasn't good. My poor boy had cancer of the lymph nodes and was in extreme pain. I had to make the difficult trip to the vet and say goodbye. I am so hurt. This is so unfair that he was so young. He was the best cat ever and I am going to miss him. |

Oh honey, I am so sorry. There's very little that is more difficult that having to make that decision. But your Badger isn't hurting anymore. No more suffering.
It doesn't make the emptiness feel any better, but you did the right thing. He's going to be waiting for you. Many many warm hugs to you.

Oh, I am Soooo sorry to hear this.
It's just so unfair sometimes, but, having had a cat suffer with FIP, I can say that I'm so happy poor Badger didn't suffer for too long. Be good to yourself. ![]() ![]()

I am so sorry you lost Badger. In the future when you look back, you will know you did the right thing. He didn't linger in pain. You gave him the ultimate kindness. As with people, some leave us so young and others stay with us perhaps longer than they should. Have faith, he is pain free and playing at the bridge as we speak. Hugs to you and RIP Badger.

I'm sorry for your loss. It's always more difficult when they die so young. RIP, Badger.

Oh, NOOO...that is too young, so cruel for dear Badger. I lost my first JC to throat cancer and my dog Tasha to lymphatic cancer and reading your post just reached into my heart....oh, the waiting, the hoping, the dreading.....the deciding, the inner struggle, summoning the courage to have love enough to make the right decision....and then.... ![]() Sending mega prayers and vibes for your comfort and healing...Tell your dear Badger to greet my JC, Miss Tobie, and our dear TCS member, HopeHacker, for us. Badger is safe from all pain and sorrow now, in that precious place, looking forward to that wonderful time when you are reunited with your little treasure, this time forever ![]()
